People often ask me what horses have taught me, and honestly, they have taught me so much.

But if I had to choose one lesson, it would be this:

Resistance is information.

When something isn’t flowing, I don’t believe we need to push harder. Horses have taught me to stop, listen, and reconsider. Sometimes the “no” is showing us another way.

They have taught me to love silence, to pause, and to surrender all the ideas and expectations I have.

And somehow, every time I let go, I can see clearly again.

Maybe that’s why I love horses so much.

They keep teaching me how to live. ❤️

I am so excited to be offering two weeks of summer camp this year! Children will learn about horses through kindness, respect , creativity, and play. They’ll spend time outdoors, connect with nature, make new friends, and experience the unique lessons horses have to teach.
If your child loves animals, adventure, creativity, and learning in a supportive environment, we’d love to have them join us this summer!

Play brings joy and well-being, and it takes us out of the agenda. When we are playing, we’re not performing, and we’re out of our ego, and we are not demanding anything.

At the same time, we don’t get disappointed because we’re just playing. So there are no expectations, zero expectations. You’re just trying, you’re being curious, and if the horse gives it to you, great, and if not, you try a different thing!

That’s why I always want to do everything with my horses from a place of play because it’s more fun for everyone and I find that when I’m in that play mode, the horses want to join me and they want to be with me!

This is our first ride bridleless and it really feels so special to me and reminds me how far Chulita and I have come!

moments like this remind me how much can grow through patience, consistency, and relationship.
I think so much of horse training has taught us to focus on performance first.

But some of the most meaningful progress I’ve experienced has come from slowing down, listening more, and spending time building trust and communication before asking for bigger things.

This winter with Chulita has been full of small, quiet moments that probably wouldn’t look very impressive from the outside. But those little moments matter.
They build something.

And then one day, your horse gives you a moment like this but not because they have to, but because they feel connected, relaxed, and willing to be with you.

That’s the kind of training I want to keep learning about.
Just a reminder that progress doesn’t always look loud, fast, or dramatic.

Sometimes it looks soft, sometimes it looks slow but each little way you show up for yourself and for your horse matters.

Chulita allowing me to ride her without a bridle and experiencing this sense of love and freedom feels life changing. We have come so so far and I feel so blessed that after 19 years together we are right here, right now, right where we are. I have been in the process of moving homes and I have been feeling so much stress in my body. But because of my horses and being able to drive out to them once a day and just sit and be there with them I can feel my stress evaporate for those moments at the barn where I am able to step away from the business of life. This moment arrived to ride Chulita without a bridle happened last week after I finally transitioned to my new property. I feel so grateful and blessed to experience life alongside Chulita❤️
