WE ARE STILL OPEN!
COVID-19 Update at San Roque Pet Hospital.
Thank you for your support in these uncertain times. In an effort to still offer quality care while maintaining the health and wellbeing of our staff, we will be operating on a ‘Curbside’ and Telemedicine basis at this time. We will make every effort to continue offering all services and maintaining our normally scheduled appointments, but our lobby is temporarily closed.
How will "Curbside service" work?
1) To make an appointment please call us. 805 682-2647. We will then triage over the phone and make an appointment for you or ask if you would prefer telemedicine services.
2) If you have a scheduled appointment, here are some questions we may need your help in answering. Please email any information that is applicable:
- what is the primary reason for your visit?
- how long have the symptoms been going on?
- are there any other pets in the household affected?
- did any diet change/medication administration precipitate the concerning behavior?
- any vomiting or diarrhea?
- any coughing or sneezing?
- any change in activity level?
- any change in food or water intake?
3) On the day of your appointment:
Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the appointment time and park near the entrance.
PLEASE REMAIN IN OR NEAR YOUR CAR.
CALL US TO TELL US YOU HAVE ARRIVED.
ALL DOGS MUST HAVE AN APPROPRIATELY ATTACHED LEASH/COLLAR/HARNESS AND ALL CATS AND OTHER PETS MUST BE IN CARRIERS. WE MAY ATTACH A SECOND SLIP LEASH AS A SAFETY MEASURE.
A vet assistant will meet you at the curb after you unload your pet to bring him/her inside.
If your appointment is for wellness (vaccines, routine labs, injections, etc.) please remain nearby as we will make every effort to complete services within 30 minutes.
Your pet’s medical team will call you to address all your concerns.
For sick pets, your pet’s medical team will call to discuss a diagnostic and treatment plan after the exam and assessment.
We will call you prior to returning your pet to you to collect payment via credit a card over the phone and then return your pet to you.
Drop-offs also available!
We can accommodate drop off appointments for all of your veterinary needs including surgery, dental cleanings, bathing, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, illness visits, etc.
How will Telemedicine Work?
Email/video/picture consultations and associated prescription medications may be available for established clients if we have seen your pet for a physical exam WITHIN THE PAST 12 MONTHS.
We can accommodate certain types of assessments, particularly ongoing conditions, but cannot guarantee this avenue for all patients. An in-person physical exam yields much more information to our doctors and team members.
For NON-URGENT questions, email us at sanroquepethospital@gmail.com if you have pictures, videos, or would like to request a telemedicine (phone) consultation with a veterinary technician or doctor. Please allow 1-2 business days for a reply.
**A fee will apply for Telemedicine consultations.
Urgent/Emergency Cases:
If you have a pet emergency or urgent concern, please call us directly at (805) 682-2647 during normal office hours or Advanced Veterinary Services at (805) 729-4460 or VCA CARE at (805) 899-2273.
Protecting our Staff:
We ask that clients who have recently traveled to endemic areas, or any client with a fever, active cough, or other concerning signs call us at least 2 hours before your scheduled appointment to reschedule. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and can reschedule non-urgent cases or suggest potential options for your pet if urgent care is warranted.
We will do everything we can to uphold the exceptional veterinary care our pet parents and patients deserve. Call us at (805) 682-2647 if there is anything we can do to help keep your pets healthy during this challenging time.
Kind Regards,
The Doctors and Staff of San Roque Pet Hospital
