The chrysanthemums are keeping us waiting, but spring preparations aren’t! 🌼🌱

While the fancy ladies take their sweet time opening, I’ve been getting next year’s flowers settled in. Ranunculus and snapdragons are planted—and somehow those two flowers took an entire day. My back would like that included in the record. 😅

Now we’re watering, watching, and kindly asking Mother Nature for gentle weather. No surprise heat waves, please!

Flower family, I’m thinking of you out here. With every little plant tucked into the soil, I’m imagining the bouquets that will find their way to your homes next spring. Planning for next year’s spring subscriptions is already underway, and I’m so happy to bring you along as it all begins. 🤍

The little flower that refuses to fade. ✨

Meet Gomphrena ‘Sequin.’ She’s easy to pass by in the garden—small, quiet and never demanding much attention—but in a bouquet, she is an absolute workhorse.

Her papery little blooms last beautifully, add just the right touch of texture and give your eye a soft place to rest among all the bigger personalities.

A pro tip for my flower family: when the rest of your bouquet begins to fade, rescue the gomphrena. Pull out those little stems, remove any tired leaves and place them in the tiniest vase you own—beside your bed, on the bathroom vanity or next to the kitchen sink.

No water needed. They’ll dry beautifully right where they are and continue bringing a little color to your home.

I’m drying plenty this season because I have plans for these sweet little gems at Christmas. 🤎
