Merlin may not be one of the show dogs… but this boy is sharp as a tack. Watching him figure out a problem is quite a sight (and then watching Moo watch him and copy him is amusing as well)

Managed to get a few really good shots of some of the Goats while we were cleaning the barn the other day. Including a blooper of Clyde, telling me just how he feels about all of the pictures. 🤣

They wouldn't stay still long enough for me to get a good picture. Our last three babies went off to their new home today.

Marigold, Clyde and Simon are all staying. I'm already excited for season 2026 😆  Once all the mamas shed their winter coats and bounce back from nursing, I will get pictures and post my thoughts on pairings for this fall to keep you all informed.

Listen when your dogs tell you something.

Last night Merlin was staying outside. This alone is not odd, except it was raining and gross and that is unusual.

I went to take the other two dogs out before bed and he was on the porch staring INTENTLY at something. Again, odd but not entirely as all the dogs are fascinated by the big fat toad that lives around the porch.

I went back inside to grab a flashlight and at first I don't see anything, as I peek further over the step I see a snake coiled up under the ledge trying to escape the rain and it is decidedly diamond patterned.

I managed to get all 3 dogs inside the house safely and Jeff dispatched the copperhead but YIKES it could have ended badly if Merlin had not been smart and kept his distance AND let me know something was wrong.
