As we lay our old girl to rest on this day of thanking or veterans and thinking of those that have lost their lives, I ask for prayers for my family, especially the kids who had to day goodbye to a dear friend. Star,one or our first ponies. She made thousands of kids smile and never took a wrong step. Say hi to Ginger for us. You are now free to eat again!! We love you girl. If anyone has pictures of our girl please add them to comments. It has been a long time since shes been out as shes been retired for a while now.
The best horses in Heaven
they have no tail.
This is a rule they all know
without fail.
For when a new horse arrives
with a short cut bob,
they all know that this horse
did a very good job.

His owner could not bear
to part with her friend
so she saved his tail,
wrapped in ribbons
and in braids,
to hold with his memory
in a very loving way.

To enter Heaven
without a tail
is an honor,
a message,
that without fail
announces to everyone,
far and wide
that this horse
was more than a wonderful ride.

But
this horse was loved and cherished by one
and when his time serving on this Earth was done
he left behind
a broken heart
and a soul
from which he never will part.

Today I’m taking a quiet moment to honor the brave men and women who have served this country. Because of their courage, I get to live this wild, beautiful life — meeting people, bringing smiles, and doing what I love every single day here at Niagara Downunder.

Freedom isn’t something I take lightly. It’s the reason we can share these moments of joy, laughter, and connection with all of you. It’s the reason this farm exists.

To every veteran and military family — thank you. Your sacrifice and selflessness make it possible for us to live free, to work hard, and to follow our passions.

From the bottom of my furry kangaroo heart — God bless you, and God bless America. ❤️🤍💙

❄️ Baby, it’s cold outside! ❄️ When the snow starts falling and the air gets that crisp winter chill, sometimes the only cure is a long, warm soak. 🛁

Our capybaras — Ivy, Cappy, and Chino — totally agree! These chill little potatoes absolutely love their hot baths when the temperatures drop. There’s nothing quite like a cozy soak to warm those toes (or in their case, webbed feet) after a snowy day at Niagara Downunder. ☃️🐾

Stay warm out there, friends — and don’t forget to take a cue from the capys… a little self-care soak might be just what you need this winter. 🛁🫧❄️

Weekly meal prep on Sundays:
🥬 Monday: Lettuce.
🥬 Tuesday: Lettuce.
🥬 Wednesday: still lettuce… because we’re all trying to be “healthy” before the holidays hit 😂

Our capybaras are living their best lettuce life — zero regrets, zero shame, and absolutely no concern that they look like a cozy baked potato with legs. 🥔💚

Meanwhile, we’re over here crunching leaves and pretending it’s fine. It’s fine. Everything’s fine. 😅

🐾✨ Throwback time! ✨🐾

Look at baby Ivy the capybara and little Casper the otter — back when they were just tiny nuggets figuring out the world together. 🥹 These two would never meet in the wild, but here at Niagara Downunder they became the best of friends — splashing, snuggling, and growing up side by side. 💚

From baby bottle days to best buddies forever — it’s wild how far they’ve come! 🌿 Come see them this weekend at the Pittsburgh Pet Expo and watch their friendship in action. You might just fall in love too. 💛

Join us this weekend! 2025 -- two acres of awesome animal entertainment and activities -- is officially underway at David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

It's the LARGEST pet expo in the country and it's taking place this weekend Fri 5-9, Sat 10-7, Sun 10-5.

Tickets available at the door and online. Friday offers an opening night discount when all adult admission is $10.

Winter is coming…snow is forecasted Monday…do you love it or hate it? ❄️

❄️🐾 Snow’s Coming to the Farm! 🐾❄️

Can you believe we might see snow on Monday?! Who’s ready?! We sure are!! The animals absolutely love the snow — from the otters rolling around to the kangaroos hopping through the flakes, it’s always a magical sight. ☃️💛

If the snow does come, you know we’ll be out there enjoying every minute of it — stay tuned for some cozy (and hilarious) winter antics from the Downunder crew!
