Grateful to Fabric Heaven crocheting group and Em Dee for their support of the Little Adoption Shop, whose recent donation of $£620 from the sale of this lovely cardigan by Em Dee went directly to help pay medical fees for this DaQing who is an older dog rescued from the dog meat trade and last week unfortunately got twisted bowel/volvulus. But we got him to the vet in time and after surgery is doing well! T

Update: we're still saving lots of dogs and cats in very bad situations, but I don't have time or energy to post in Chinese and in English.

We're not doing international adoptions anymore, so once I get our website in order again, it will basically be all in Chinese. There are enough adopters in China for the dogs we rescue, but finding them is something that will take about 500% more energy that we're currently spending (due to size limitations in many cities). We will find a way to do it.

Every adoption in China is a win-win, as it gives a dog a home and helps develop the animal adoption culture here.

Rethinking whether we should still have a non-profit entity in the US as opposed to maybe doing something more like a social enterprise (charity shop) to sell products, rather than ask for donations.

In short, this is the most difficult time in all of our 13 years and it's just been getting harder by the day.

Won't give up, but the road ahead looks really tough-going.

Have not updated in a while, because this has just gotten more and more difficult to keep going, and I've been overwhelmed.

法拉年纪大了，但是心里还是跟一个小孩儿一样。如果因为年龄不敢永久领养，但是可以短期/不定期寄养，也可以！法拉非常亲人，乖，可爱。

Unfortunately, Lydia丽迪‘s tumor has grown back extremely quickly. We're opting not to operate again, but just try to give her the best remaining days of her life we can. She's one of the most aggressive dogs we currently provide sanctuary to, and we've given her a life that would not have been possibly in most countries where, due to her behavior, I'm guessing she would've been killed -- aka euthanized - years ago.

This lovely rescued cat just got a new name:Fiorella. Fio is available for adoption in Beijing. She’s vaccinated and just spayed. Super friendly fur ball ready to be someone’s newest family member. (thx, Lucie for the awesome name.)

Her name is moon because her sisters name is Sunny. She’s used to living with dogs and is one of the smartest cats Ive ever met.
