🐾 Happy Tails: Jennie’s New Beginning 🐾
We’re thrilled to share a heartwarming update on Jennie, who is settling beautifully into her new home! 💛 Her family tells us she’s becoming a truly happy girl and growing more confident every day.

One of Jennie’s favorite things? Her new canine brother, Cain—she absolutely loves him! 🐶❤️🐶 The bond they’ve formed is helping Jennie feel more at ease and bringing out her sweet, playful side.

We’re so grateful Jennie found a home where she’s understood, supported, and deeply loved. Here’s to new beginnings, wagging tails, and the joy of finding your place in the world.

If you’re thinking about getting a four-legged friend for your pup, please consider a Thulani dog. Many of our seniors (like Jennie) enjoy playtime with other dogs, while others just want a quiet companion. We look at personality, energy level and physical ability to help find the right match for everyone in your household. We also do meet and greets as dogs can be selective about their friends.

We were deeply saddened to hear that Thulani alumni dog Trooper T went to the Rainbow Bridge earlier this week. This sweet, friendly boy was adopted in 2019 and we couldn’t have asked for a better forever home for this former stray.
His adopter said “So, he is now running free and exploring all those wonderful scents. I asked him to let me know he’s still around and a big gust of wind came and went - that’s my boy! I feel very lucky to have had him for over 5 years.”

Fare thee well, Trooper. We will miss you.

Today, we celebrate the resilience, love, and second chances that rescue dogs bring into our lives. At Thulani, we’ve had the honor of knowing some of the most incredible senior dogs—each with a story, each with a spirit that refuses to quit.
Rescue dogs remind us that no matter what they’ve been through, they still have so much love to give. They teach us about patience, trust, and the beauty of new beginnings—at any age.
To everyone who has adopted, fostered, donated, or simply cheered our dogs on from afar: thank you. And to the dogs still waiting for their chance— we won’t give up. 💛

🐾 Clarissa’s Golden Days 🐾
Clarissa is one of our beloved hospice dogs — a gentle soul who may not have found an adoptive home, but who has found something just as important: safety, comfort, and love.
Thanks to her incredible foster, Clarissa has spent her golden years in a warm, caring home where she’s cherished every day. Though her mobility is limited, she still enjoys peaceful time outside, soaking up the sun and the kindness of neighbors who regularly stop by to say hello. She has many human friends, and even more favorite snacks — which she’s been happily indulging in lately.
This is the heart of senior dog rescue. Not every pup gets adopted, but every one of them deserves to feel safe, seen, and loved. We are so deeply grateful to Clarissa’s foster for giving her exactly that.
Clarissa reminds us that the greatest gift we can give is simply being there, with love, for as long as they need us. 💛

MacKenzie T has turned into an active, energetic, demonstrative dog now that we have him on a medical regimen that addresses his pain and arthritis issues. Before the meds he was estimated to be a 10+ year old dog. Now with the meds, his age is estimated to be 8 years! It’s amazing what a little TLC (Thulani Loving Care) can do.

Happy National Dog Mom Day to all of our amazing Thulani dog moms. We want to express our immense gratitude for the homes and unconditional love that our foster and adoptive moms have given to their Thulani seniors over the years. Whether you do something small like giving your pup an extra special treat or something big like caring for a hospice dog, all of you are wonderful. We know your dogs love you as much as we do.

Hi, I’m Meeko. Want to know what I do all day? In the morning, I go out in the yard right away, then I eat a yummy breakfast, and after that I sleep in my bed next to my foster mom while she works at her desk. I get to go for a morning walk every day! Then my mom goes back to work, and I’m back on my bed near her. I start to get restless around 5:00 so my mom takes me for a 2nd walk. And then, there is a delicious dinner at around 6:00! After that I may get a puzzle, a lick mat, or something fun to chew on. My last last walk is around 9:00 to 10:00. My favorite parts of the day are breakfast, dinner, and any treats/chewies in between.

We can’t believe how smart Titus TND (the new dog) is! When he was at the vet for his initial exam, the waiting room didn’t have a water bowl, but there was a 'people' fountain that required the user to step on a foot lever in order to drink from the upper fountain. Titus perfected that in two tries with no prompting or help from a human! This guy will have his doggie PhD in no time.

HarveyLuv absolutely loves spending time with humans. Whether it’s hanging out at your side, going for a walk, or relaxing at home, he’s happiest when he’s part of the action. He’s also very food motivated, which makes him eager to learn and a joy to work with. (He’s already got those puppy eyes down perfectly when snacks are involved!)
