🏡 MAYA NEEDS A LOVING HOME

Meet Maya, a gentle and petite 6-year-old girl weighing about 35 pounds. Maya was originally rescued in Ukraine with an injured paw. After treatment, healing, and lots of love, she has grown into an incredibly sweet and devoted companion.

Maya is:

🐾 Potty trained and crate trained
🐾 Calm, quiet, and rarely barks
🐾 Non-reactive and easy to walk
🐾 Comfortable riding in the car
🐾 Gentle with people, dogs, and cats
🐾 Familiar with basic commands
🐾 A loyal companion who loves being near her person

Maya enjoys long neighborhood walks, chin scratches, chicken treats, relaxing on her bed, and quietly spending time beside the people she trusts. She is not very interested in toys or fetch, but she loves playing and socializing with other dogs.

Maya previously lived peacefully with a small senior dachshund and has made several dog friends in her neighborhood. She would ideally have a friendly, confident canine companion to help her feel secure and continue building confidence.

She would do best in an adult-only home, although a home with calm, respectful older children may also be considered. Her ideal family will be patient, gentle, and willing to let her settle in and build trust at her own pace.

Royal got a second chance. ❤️

Yesterday was supposed to be Royal's last day.

This beautiful Husky found himself on the euthanasia list at an overcrowded shelter—not because he had done anything wrong, but simply because there wasn't enough space.

Royal is everything you'd hope for in a companion: talkative, affectionate, full of personality, and eager to be part of a family. His life was almost cut short due to circumstances completely beyond his control.

Thankfully, we were able to step in.

Today, Royal is safe in a foster home, where he can finally decompress, feel loved, and begin the next chapter of his life. Instead of losing his life, he has been given the chance to live it.

Stories like Royal's remind us why rescue matters. Every day, incredible dogs face impossible situations through no fault of their own. When rescues, fosters, volunteers, and supporters work together, lives are saved.

💦🐾 Looking for a best friend for life? Look no further—Haven is waiting for you!

Haven is a beautiful, joyful boy rescued from a crowded shelter’s euthanasia list. Since stepping into safety, he has shown everyone who he truly is: a sweet, intelligent, playful dog with a huge heart.

Haven was a volunteer favorite at the shelter because of his gentle nature. He loves people, enjoys making furry friends, and brings happy energy wherever he goes.

This clever boy loves learning and thrives with kind, gentle guidance. He knows “lay down,” is mastering “sit,” and enjoys puzzle toys, new skills, and little jobs that keep his mind busy. Haven is crate trained, comfortable with handling, and rides nicely in the car—politely waiting before hopping out.

When it is time to play, Haven is all in! He loves splashing in water, chasing squeaky balls, zooming around the yard, and sharing outdoor adventures with his person. He is also making wonderful progress with his leash manners.

After the fun, Haven is happy simply being close to someone he trusts. He can relax beside you while you work and has discovered how wonderful belly rubs and back scratches can be. Once he feels safe, his affectionate and tender personality truly blossoms.

Haven is smart, loyal, playful, and full of heart. He is ready to become someone’s adventure partner, devoted companion, and best friend.

💕Meet Shelby — a gorgeous, affectionate German Shepherd with a serious love for water!
Shelby is a beautiful three-year-old black-and-tan German Shepherd who was rescued just in time from a shelter where she was at risk of euthanasia. Now she is ready to leave her past behind and find the loving home she deserves.
Shelby is affectionate, playful, and full of joyful energy. She loves being close to her people, knows “sit,” and is very food-motivated—making treats a great tool for continuing her training.
Her absolute favorite activity is playing with water from the hose. Turn it on, and Shelby transforms into the happiest dog in the world! Her daily water games are guaranteed to make you laugh.
Shelby is an active girl. She would thrive with an energetic adopter who will give her plenty of exercise, playtime, structure, and continued training. In return, Shelby will bring endless affection, entertainment, and loyal German Shepherd companionship into her new family’s life.

💦 Meet Tug — your future best friend and water-sports partner! 🐾

Tug was saved from a shelter’s euthanasia list and has been waiting far too long for a family of his own. Despite everything he has been through, this wonderful boy remains happy, loving, and ready to enjoy life.

Tug is a loyal companion who wants to be part of your adventures—and anything involving water is his idea of a perfect day! Whether it’s splashing, swimming, playing with the hose, or simply exploring outdoors with his person, Tug brings enthusiasm and joy everywhere he goes.

He has been with the rescue for a long time, yet somehow he continues to receive no adoption applications. We cannot understand why this cheerful, devoted boy keeps being overlooked.

Tug does not need another temporary place to stay. He needs someone who will finally choose him.

Behind so many “cute puppies for sale” online… there’s a story nobody sees.
🐾 Dozer was used for breeding puppies for profit.
When he was no longer useful, he was discarded at a shelter,
Placed on the euthanasia list.
He’s loving with most people, but struggles with strangers.
The rescue will likely care for him for the rest of his life.
🐾 Lobo was another breeding dog.
Terrified of strangers. Severe anxiety and panic behaviors.
He also ended up discarded by back yard breeders, and on a euthanazia list.
💔 BOTH of his leg joints were severely damaged.
His rescue spent nearly $9,000 on surgeries just to give him a chance to live without pain.
🐾 Kio, a Labradoodle bought online as a “cute puppy,” no transparency, no information about genetics or breeding background.
His family struggled with sudden aggression, was pleading to rescues.
He bit rescue fosters too.
⚠️ THESE ARE NOT ISOLATED STORIES.
These are just a few dogs from ONE SMALL RESCUE GROUP.
There is one thing all these dogs had in common:
❌ No microchips
❌ No accountability
❌ No traceability
Meanwhile, shelters, rescues, and legitimate ethical breeders microchip animals because responsible systems require accountability and identification.
Now multiply this by:
thousands of online animal sales every single day
anonymous sellers
backyard breeders
puppy mills
👉 Who pays the price?
The animals. The families. The shelters. The rescues. The taxpayers.
📊 California taxpayers alone spend approximately $460 MILLION funding shelter systems per year!
Many shelters are closing intake, they cannot sustain the volume of animals.
❗We must STOP THE FLOW at the source.
That means:
✔️ Seller identity verification
✔️ Breeder accountability
✔️ Transparency in online animal sales
✔️ Platform accountability
Because right now animals can be bred and sold online with little more than the click of a button.

🐾 AMAZING RECOVERY FOR McGEE! 🐾

Many of you remember our beautiful Shepsky, McGee, whom we rescued from euthanasia at an overcrowded shelter.

Today, we are so incredibly happy to share:
💙 McGee is THRIVING after his complex surgery and long recovery!

After months of pain, repeated procedures, uncertainty, and healing — McGee is finally healthy, happy, and enjoying life again. Seeing him comfortable, playful, and free from pain has been such an emotional and rewarding journey for everyone who loves him.

McGee was suffering from a rare and painful condition called a salivary mucocele, caused by damage to a salivary gland — most likely from trauma before he came into rescue. The gland continuously leaked saliva into a large pocket in his neck that repeatedly filled up and caused discomfort and risk of complications.

Over the past year, McGee underwent repeated draining procedures — six or more times — each requiring anesthesia, hoping the condition would stabilize without invasive surgery. Unfortunately, the pocket kept returning, and surgery eventually became his only chance for a normal and comfortable life.

After extensive research, we located one of the few board-certified specialist surgeons in California experienced with this rare procedure.

The normal cost of the surgery was over $10,000, and even with a generous rescue discount, the final cost still exceeded $8,000.

Because of the kindness and support of our community, we were able to move forward and give McGee the care he desperately needed.

And today…
✨ HE IS HEALED.
✨ HE IS HAPPY.
✨ HE IS SAFE.

We are beyond grateful to everyone who donated, shared, supported, and believed in McGee.

This is what rescue is truly about:
Giving animals a second chance when the world had almost given up on them.

🐾 Meet Dixie — still waiting for her forever home 💛
Dixie is one of those dogs you don’t forget. We rescued her over a year ago from a euthanasia list, and since then she’s been nothing short of amazing. Sweet, gentle, and full of love — yet she’s still waiting for a family to call her own.
Look at that face… this photo is from one of our adoption events, where she happily greeted everyone with her soft, kind energy.

Her brother was adopted a while back, and now it’s Dixie’s turn.
Dixie is still waiting for her family, and it’s hard to understand how. She’s adorable, loving, well-mannered, and ready to make someone’s life better in all the quiet, everyday ways that matter most.
💔 It’s been especially tough for rescues lately — applications have slowed, even for truly wonderful dogs like Dixie.

Rescue is not always easy. It is late-night messages, vet visits, worried hearts, happy updates, hard goodbyes, and a whole lot of love in between.

A chance to heal.

👅Tongue Out Tuesday: Gordon has one question... where is his family?

Gordon is out here serving tongue, charm, and emotional resilience.

And yet somehow... he is still in boarding.

This sweet boy desperately needs a foster or adopter. He is potty trained, affectionate, smart, and very committed to the important things in life: walks, treats, butt scratches, and being loved by his person.

He is the kind of dog who makes you feel like you matter. The kind of dog who looks at you like you hung the moon, then politely checks whether you also brought snacks.

Gordon has been through a lot. He came in with a bad skin infection, and while he is almost healed now, what he really needs is not just recovery. He needs someone to believe in him. Someone to see past the hard chapter and give him the soft landing he deserves.

Because honestly? Gordon should not be spending his days in boarding. He should be in a home, going on walks, collecting treats for being adorable and intelligent, and dramatically leaning in for butt scratches like it is his full-time job.

He is sweet. He is loving. He is ready.

Now he just needs his person.
