We did it! 🎉 Thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised all the funds needed to bail out all eight horses from the feedlot.
Because of you, they now have a second chance at life, a chance they would not have had without this community standing together.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this rescue possible. Stay tuned for photos of their freedom rides.

They only have until Monday to get off the feedlot. Please, any amount you can give will help us get them to safety.

Four years ago, Elva, named after a beloved sister who left this world too soon, was pulled by us from a feedlot in Washington State. She was skinny, injured, and had a foal ripped from her. Today, Elva now goes by Suki and is learning how to be a domestic horse.

Thank you, Kelly Cochran, for sharing this video and allowing us to share with our followers! "Before" photos will be in the comments.

If you'd like to support us in saving more horses like Suki, please consider donating:

Does anyone remember the little pregnant filly we helped save in February? Well, her adopter sent us an update tonight, and we couldnt be more thrilled! From unhandled and unloved, to getting an education as a valued member of the family, we couldn't be more happy for Guiness and her foal, Renoir, and their mom, Erika! Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Stories like this make it all worth it.

UPDATE: thanks to YOU, we were able to ensure all three yearlings (two chestnut c**ts and one bay c**t) and the bred mare are safe!

🎉We made the deadline, all thanks to you!🎉

In total, we were able to save 13 foals thanks to your generosity. More foals were dropped off last night, and we were able to ensure their safety with the others.

We just received an URGENT plea for help. We ONLY have 24 hours to secure their safety.

ELEVEN foals are still at the feedlot in AZ. A rescue that had promised to bail them out backed out at the last minute. Now, they have no one—unless we can raise at least $3,250. That amount only covers their bail. Hopefully we will be able to raise more to help a mare in foal plus a mare with foal.

Two foster rescues are ready and willing to care for them, but we must raise the funds today. These are very young foals. They will need to be bottle fed.

We’ve stepped in before. And with your help, we can do it again.
Please, if you can, donate now: https://laughingponyrescue.org/donate

We are their only chance.
How can we possibly turn away?

ORIGINAL POST:
You know we can’t resist helping babies in need... and, we've done it again. We paid out of our own funds to bail out these two injured orphan foals. They were part of a dispersal, and they are far too young to be off their mom. They both sustained some injuries and will need medical care. We just couldn't turn away. There's a foster who can get them healthy; they left at 5am this morning to pick up the foals. Can you help us raise the money to reimburse our own funds and help cover travel costs and vetting? Every dollar helps. We're hoping to raise at least $400 each but the more we can raise the more we can support the foster with their rehabilitation and care costs.

Remember the foals you saved? Look at them now! So sweet, splashing in the water, just being babies. We love getting these update videos from the rescues we help facilitate. So grateful for all your support.

Our Story

Laughing Pony Rescue was established as a 501(c)3 in May of 2010. However, the inception of what came to be LPR’s mission began many years ago in the heart of a little girl being raised in New York City. Her name is Celia Sciacca and from as long as she can remember, horses were her saving grace. Celia got her first horse at ten years old, Hot Foot Honey. She used to ride her ba****ck through the streets of New York.

Celia’s first rescue was an Appaloosa stallion named Don, who was on his way to the feed lot to get fattened up and then sent to the slaughter-house for meat. Celia was among the first to go to Nevada to help rescue their wild Mustangs. Celia would take on what others would deem the "untrainable" horse. She often helped other rescues to train difficult horses so that they could be placed in good homes. She helped individual owners with similar problems as well.

Celia is the President of Laughing Pony Rescue, Inc., founded with the purpose of rescuing and rehabilitating sick, abandoned, abused and slaughter-bound horses of any breed. Each day she and her team of volunteers take care of up to 20 horses at the Laughing Pony Rescue Ranch. Celia has rescued or assisted in the rescue of more than 1200 horses. She nursed many of these rescues back to health healing their mind, body and spirit. Finally she created a detailed criteria that allowed her to pair rehabilitated horses with loving homes that were sure to live up to her standards.
