Fruit fly culture is going crazy! We formulate the media based on the animals and plants that will eat the flies, but cultures going crazy is a side effect! Unfortunately, as the larvae churn up the media, booming cultures like these are difficult to ship as the media will move around when the shipping courier does not read “this side up”. Buy now and plan ahead!

These two Kronos flytraps were raised in pretty much the exact same conditions in the same climate in a greenhouse with the same soil. They also came with pretty much the same rhizome size. Anyone venture to guess why there is such a massive difference in size?

It is common misconception that venus flytraps are difficult to keep alive. Such assumptions are caused, in my opinion, by widespread misinformation on care on boxes sold in big box stores, as well as some degree of gatekeeping within the community where some deliberately make it seem like being able to keep these plants are some sort of impossible achievement only they can do.

We are here to tell you that is NOT the case. These plants are endemic to the USA and can be grown outdoors in the right conditions throughout the contiguous USA, and even can be grown indoors with a few, simple steps and proper materials. A lot of care aspects like dormancy are important, but also overcomplicated when in reality it is mind-numbingly simple.
