Today's video is a pond update.
Our four ponds are for the most part in direct sunlight for most of the day. We have placed screen tops and a shade cloth on top of the ponds to lower the intensity of the light and heat from the sun. Only 4 physical water changes have been done on these ponds, as the rain has done a great job doing that for us.
Pond 1)
Fish are looking great. But it still has a little hair algae left. It's slowly disappearing on its own.
Pond 2)
The Jungle Vallisneria is taking off like crazy. The Anubis is going strong.
Pond 3)
This pond was the worst on hair algae. It has cleared up splendidly. Fish are growing fastest in this pond.
Pond 4)
Relatively no change in this pond the green water is not as bright green as it one was. Hoping to put in some Ricefish this summer and hope to keep them out all year long.
Pond season in Texas is year round. It's never to late to start one for yourself. I guarantee you will love it.
The fish in the ponds.
These fish have been amazing for cycling the outdoor ponds. Comet goldfish are hardy, can take the temperature swings just fine and are growing quickly. These started as 30 cent feeders and have become great additions to the backyard.
Thank you for watching!
