A few days ago, Mae managed to get her head stuck between one of the guardrails in our home. Getting in was easy, getting out turned into a full situation and she ended up breaking her jaw trying.

It was all very scary, but our amazing vet got her in right away and referred us to an orthopedic surgeon, who repaired it with a plate. (not the kind of plate she loves unfortunately 🍽️)

She’s doing well now and being cared for by her team of dog nurse siblings and her little humans who absolutely adore her. She’s slowly getting back to her happy self and for now, she’s sporting the sweetest little crooked smile ❤️

One year with our Oso Boy! We don’t know his exact birthday but today feels like a great day to celebrate him ❤️
We couldn’t love Oso more! He is so sweet and hands down the most affectionate pup we have ever known. His favorite person/puppy is our 3 year old- they do everything together. Reading, exploring outside, cuddles before bed and right when they both wake up. He is definitely our little boy’s heart dog which is something we weren’t expecting but so incredibly happy about.
Oso is the best friend for Wren, they wrestle and chase each other nonstop, he is the best protector of the little dogs and he will snuggle up with the cats too.

We love you so much, Mr. Oso! Thank you for making our hearts so happy ❤️🎈

With all of the heartbreaking news in the world lately, it’s been hard not to feel the weight of it and wonder how we can help.

Here in the U.S., I’ve been thinking a lot about pets who are being impacted by sudden family separations and uncertainty. Pets whose owners are deported or detained, picked up and don’t return home to their pets at the end of the day.

So many animals are being left behind through no fault of their own. And many are being surrendered to shelters that are already at capacity simply because there’s nowhere else for them to go.

I wanted to share some resources and create space for conversation around how we can help protect pets during such heartbreaking times.

• Underdog Rescue is providing free pet food to families unable or afraid to leave their homes.

• The Bond Between is providing foster care and resources so pets aren’t left behind.

•North Minneapolis Pet Resource Center is offering human food, pet food, and vet care support at this time. &

If you have resources to share or want to help in any way, you’re always welcome to DM me or email [email protected] and I can help spread the word.

One of the most important things we can all do is be kind to one another, check in on our neighbors and keep an eye out for the pets around us.

Sending lots of love to everyone and to all of our friends in Minnesota ❤️

Last weekend we joined our favorite people at Ruff Haven Crisis Sheltering as they provided free vaccines and microchips to almost 300 pets here in Salt Lake City!
(There were lots of adorable dogs and cats but you know I can’t resist photographing alllll of the dachshunds 😊)

We’ve had the privilege of working with Ruff Haven a lot this past year, and each experience has been so meaningful. Their mission is simple but powerful: to provide a safe haven for pets during times of crisis for their people.

Because of this work, hundreds of pets have been able to stay with the people who love them most instead of being surrendered to shelters.
This past week, they helped a family who was being deported and heartbroken about what to do with their dog, Haru. Ruff Haven covered the cost of his flight and assisted with the certificates he needed to travel with his family.

With so much heavy news in the world, it feels good to support an organization that truly shows up for every member of our community, no matter who they are. If you’re looking for an organization to support this year, I promise this is a great one with so much heart.

Also, the last photo is a plaque Ruff Haven designed for mine and my husband’s flooring store 🤣
Our store, S**g Rug La, sponsored some astroturf for the dog kennels at Ruff Haven and this was how they honored us 🌭 We love it so verrrrrry much.
