Released from the ABDA.❤️‍🩹

Richard Stratton touched many lives throughout the APBT world. Many have fallen in love with the breed due to his writings. These were the final paragraphs from his farewell article published in the August 2026 issue of the APBT Gazette.

"I have many great memories of special dogs and special people! I’ve truly had a great life. My days of wine and roses, happy times, have not been short, after all. Nonetheless, this will likely be my last article for the Gazette. That’s not because I’m still not interested and still a fan. But I’m in my ninety-fifth year, and I’ve been diagnosed with colon cancer. Just being ninety-five doesn’t auger for a long future, but the colon cancer shortens it even more."

"But don’t feel sorry for me, as I still feel great, and I’ll enjoy that as long as I can. I’ve had special long-time dog friends, like Mike and Sharon Sundy, truly special people, come down and insist on taking me out to eat. Others, too, have done the same. And it was so much fun to talk dogs with them. I guess I never will tire of that. I may be on the way out, but my days of wine roses have not yet ended."

The Salt Lake Terrier Association is getting ready to throw one heck of a show, and we’re starting to see those pre-entries roll in! 🔥

We currently have 5 Top Dog pre-entries, including 2 Conformation and 5 Weight Pull entries! 🏆💪

Salt Lake Terrier Association is gearing up for an incredible Nationals event, and we want to get you into the ring as quickly and smoothly as possible!

Save time on event day by filling out your entry forms in advance. Pre-registering helps us keep registration running seamlessly so you can focus on showing your dogs instead of waiting in line.

What You Need to Know:
*Convenient Pre-Payment: Scan our QR code to pay ahead of time and breeze right through check-in.
*National Event Fee: $50 per event.
*Flexible Options: Prefer to pay on event day? No problem! Day-of payment is still accepted in person.

Important Note: Advance payment is for your convenience. Per ADBA policy for sanctioned events, all entry fees are strictly non-refundable.

We are finalizing our order, I think I’ve contacted everyone if I’ve missed someone please message.
We are not planning on having lots on hand at the show, we possibly will have a few popular sizes but no guarantees, so let us know if you want one. 🐶👕

We have a food truck secured, he said he’s bringing breakfast Burritos. Then will have a lunch menu as well! For Saturday and Sunday.

To everyone who has supported us and bought a Nationals shirt. I’ll be sending out messages to everyone who ordered a shirt by Thursday and I’ll let you know if the Blackout made it into the order.

We are having a quilt made for the 2026 Nationals by the generous Mary Cullifer🌸 if you have a club APBT shirt we can add to represent your club please let us know! We Have our traveling locals who will be at Colorado this weekend or possibly a show near you. We do need a few so if you have one please contact one of us or message us here. 😁
