Tracy Aviary & Botanical Garden, located in the heart of Salt Lake City’s Liberty Park, is the oldest aviary in the country. This beautiful oasis is home to over 400 birds from around the world, many that are endangered or extinct in the wild. The Aviary features daily feedings and keeper demonstrations, educational programming, interactive bird shows, and much more, all in a tranquil wooded setting. Open to the public year-round; the Aviary also offers unique rental spaces for special events, weddings, birthday parties, and proposals. The Aviary boasts more than a dozen educational exhibits featuring over 135 different species from all over the world. Guests can also enjoy the on-site Bird Feeder Café, which offers freshly prepared food and beverage, and find unique gifts and souvenirs in the gift shop.

Baer's Pochards, like this male, feed by diving under the water's surface. They can reach a depth of over 6 feet and hold their breath for around 40 seconds while searching for food. This species can be seen on Dabbling Duck Pond.

Big news from the nest! Our southern ground hornbill chick has officially fledged, and we're thrilled to introduce you to Echo!

Southern ground hornbills are known for their deep, booming calls that can carry for miles, so we think the name fits perfectly. Keep an eye and ear out for Echo on your next visit.
