When it rains, it pours.
We are forever grateful to be able to be here for the next Basset who needs us.
Turns out there have been a few in the last week that needed rescue and also have major health problems .
One of three six month old babies has severe eye issues.
Bluey’s lower lids need surgery: one is by far worse than the other.
Technically, an eyelid mass excision will be preformed. There are eye lashes that are rubbing on her eye; left untreated she would painfully, lose sight in one and then the other eye.
And so, we ask our villagers for help. Any donation amount will help.

We look forward to thus each year ! Please join us Bassets de Mayo Pawty 2025Saturday May 24 11:00 am - 2:00 pmThis pa...

In the blink of an eye, routine days in rescue can go from mostly manageable to ….. over the top, emotionally and financially. In the past month, we’ve started treatments for five Bassets who tested positive for heart worm. Copper is being treated for severe allergies. Beatrice had an MRI and is being treated for multiple hairline fractures, caused by human abuse and inoperable; she will be given spinal injections. And our sweet little, Eddie spent two nights and three days on oxygen in the ER for pneumonia.

We’ll share more about each of these dogs who we are truly grateful that we were here for them.

In the meantime, we are financially stretched to the max, and are in desperately in need of donations. Any amount will help.
Thanking you in advance for your generosity.

Donations can be made by paypal, check, credit card, cash or Venmo (in comments). Through our website UFBH.org
Call 801-915-3647 to use credit card.

GET YOUR TUTU READY AND LET'S DO THIS !!!

Wasatch Waddle 2025 is Satruday, March 15th.
Parade starts at 11:00 at the north end of The Gateway.
Arrive early so you can park close.

As always, the Waddle is open to all UFBH alumni and of course all Basset Hounds!

We encourage you to register as soon as possible!
This year we will not have a new T-shirt design. Instead, we are offering two different styles (short or long sleeve) of last year’s design. Special price $5 short sleeve and $10 for long sleeve.

Register as soon as possible for the best selection in size and color.

Instead of a new t-shirt, we are very excited to be offering a 3-inch pin! For your $20 registration, you’ll receive one for free, along with derby and scarf for your Waddler

Questions? Call or text Peggy at 801-915-3647

What is the Wasatch Waddle?

It’s our most Fun FUNdraiser of the year!

We “Waddle” with our Basset Hounds in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. It’s about one mile, through the streets of Salt Lake City.

No need to worry if you have an older hound or one not able to keep up on foot…er, paw…because we provide the Pooped Pup Pick-up Truck! We’re also encouraging you to bring wagons or
carts for your hounds to ride in. We have to keep up with the rest of the parade so bring wheels if you have them.

Please, keep in mind the comfort and happiness of your hounds. If you’re not sure yours will have a good time while waddling, you can volunteer to walk one of our fosters, or help another family who has multiple hounds. It’s nosey and busy, so please consider your hound’s happiness and well-being.UPDATE!!
