Looking for a purr-fect way to help MRFRS on your own schedule? We've got just the thing; become a Donation Can Collector!

Local businesses across Salisbury, Amesbury, Newburyport, and nearby towns have kindly placed our donation cans near their registers. We need pawsome volunteers to:
🐾 Check in on 5–10 nearby locations
🐾 Swap out full cans
🐾 Freshen up the kitty photo displays (gotta keep it cute!)
🐾 Drop donations off at the MRFRS office

This is a flexible, independent role that fits into your schedule — perfect for folks who want to help, but can’t commit to a weekly shift. 😺

🐾🏠 Help Us Clear the Shelter! 🐾🏠
From August 14–16, MRFRS is hosting a special Adult Cat Adoption Event to help some of our long-term residents find the loving homes they deserve. 💙

We’ll be highlighting a group of featured adult cats (12 months+) who have been at the shelter for far too long; some are a little shy, some have extra “spice,” but all are ready for their happily ever after.

🐱 Adoption fees for these featured cats will be covered thanks to the generosity of one of our supporters!

🎁 Bonus: Every cat or kitten adoption during the event comes with a surprise gift (while supplies last).

We’re offering rabies & distemper vaccines for just $20, nail trims for $10, and FREE microchips for cats and dogs—thanks to a generous grant from Cummings Foundation!

AXL ROSE: This kind-hearted rockstar just wants to be a flower on your wall. He is a 4-year-old boy who was brought in as a stray. We have learned that he really loves the other cats, so much so that he will fall asleep using another feline friend as a pillow! While Axl may not be one to jump into your lap for love, he is quite content with being perched up high on a shelf, watching over you from a distance. He would make a great cat for a home that already has companionship from another, more confident cat. He doesn’t require much but a full belly, love from another feline, and acceptance for who he is as a quiet, gentle boy.

On Thursday, August 14th - Saturday, August 16th, we will be having a Clear the Shelter Adoption Event in an effort to help find homes for our harder-to-place cats. Adult cats (12months+) like Axl Rose will have a sponsored, waived adoption fee during the event next week.

🐾 The Great Scalabrine! This handsome hunk is an 11-year-old boy who was brought to us after his owner passed. Scally is looking for a home where he can spend lots of time with his people receiving all of love. He is always happy to see you and may even greet you with an excited twitchy tail!

If you’ve been looking for an affectionate, lap cat who can never get enough kisses, then look no further! The Great Scalabrine would make a great companion cat.
