We are currently working on getting back up and running again. We are going to be taking in a smaller amount of rescues so we don't get overwhelmed. I will let you all know when we get the final approval and when we are back in action. One of the critiques was that the wildlife in my care needed more enrichment so I will put together a amazon wishlist with the necessary items. Thank you every one for hanging in there with us. We appreciate you all.

I told my team: If I don’t call you back in 15 minutes, call the cops…

I had just driven an hour and a half to pick up a bobcat kitten from a man who refused to send a photo of it. I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. What if there was no kitten? What if this was a setup?

When I pulled into the driveway, he was already outside—towering, stone-faced, and the kind of man you’d instinctively avoid crossing. He stood beside a small cage draped in a blanket. I cautiously stepped out of the car and walked toward him. His eyes locked onto mine, guarded and skeptical.

I nervously lifted the blanket.

There it was—a tiny, terrified bobcat kitten. Skinny. Malnourished. But alive.

“Promise me you won’t kill him,” he said, voice low but firm.

That’s what this was all about. This intimidating stranger wasn’t dangerous at all. He was afraid. He was trying to protect this innocent creature and was having trouble trusting a stranger not to just euthanize him. I wasn’t in danger - I was in good company.

All my fear dissolved. I finally saw this for what it was. I extended my hand and looked him straight in the eye.

“I promise,” I said. “He’s safe now. I’ll make sure he gets everything he needs.”

Once the kitten was tucked safely in my car, I made the most important call of the day—back to my team—so this kindhearted man wouldn’t be greeted by flashing lights and concerned police officers in five minutes. 😅

The kitten is about 10 weeks old—and his blood won’t clot. So young, and already suffering from rat poison exposure.

Yesterday, dozens of passionate wildlife advocates gathered at the Massachusetts State House to fight for animals just like him—lobbying to ban second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs).

I wanted to be there too. But with our team short-staffed, I was needed here.

I was still fighting the same fight—just on a different front.

Because when wildlife rehabilitators aren’t standing at the State House begging lawmakers to stop this poison, we’re rescuing very sick animals and trying desperately to save them from it.

Very bitter sweet day. These babies came from a kind man named CJ on salisbury Beach. They were the youngest squirrel babies I have ever rehabbed. They didn't even have any hair. This group also includes baby HOPE. She was incredibly special and it's nice to be able to see her be free. I'm gonna miss these babies and I don't know if I will continue to rehab after this but it's nice to see them grown up healthy and wild. I hope they will continue to visit from time to time.

So upsetting 😡. I can tell you from personal experience how real this is. My heart goes out to her family.

This is earth shattering. The reality of bullying to such a kind soul. Be kind to everyone.

Imagine learning a skill that takes HOURS , DAYS, YEARS to learn. You get good at this skill and are able to stabilize a very sick lethargic baby animal. You dedicated time So much time and VOLUNTEERED precious hours of you life for this cause. Then imagine the organization you do this for treating you like the biggest piece of crap. Because of personal life changing issues in my life mass wildlife wants me to take a break from rehabbing. But honestly after the way I was treated by them I may stop. What happened.. so very long story short I got a call last week that demanded me come home from my job ( I work a hour away). Mass wildlife Came to my house for a surprise inspection. When you get your rehabbing license this is one of the things you agree to. I pulled up to my house and not only was Mass wildlife at my house but some dick head from Environmental police was here too. I get out of my truck and spoke to them and they said they were here for a inspection and to possibly seize all the animals?!!! This immediately struck fear in my heart and if you know me at all it was just another nail in the coffin for me. They inspected the wildlife and mentioned the squirrel cage needed cleaning. This is something I do every day. Squirrels are a natural chewers and p**p a lot. This particular morning I missed the cleaning for them as my attention was being pulled in another direction. They inspected the 4 raccoon babies and found they were ok but I guess didn't like the set I had for them. After what feels like hours mass wildlife leaves and says they will be in touch to try to find other rehabs to take the babies. After the embarrassed me with my neighbors and town. Before leaving the real dick head Environmental police has the Gaul to say to me we need more people like you and what you do for wildlife isn't easy. Honestly sir you treating me like a animal abuser and then apologizing after was such a pathetic attempt at a apology. I kindly hope you stubb your toe on your bedframe every morning you wake up. I am so greatful to the rescue who took the raccoon babies and the other rehab who took a few squirrels from me to lessen my load. I'm not going to name them because I haven't gotten permission from them to post there kind efforts
Who made the report... I honestly don't know. Could be a upset viewer follower or just a jealous parasite of person trying to ruin someone who just wanted to help animals.if the animals were really being neglected mass wildlife would have seized the animals and they did NOT. I post videos and pictures of the animals that are in our care NOT to brag but to show you guys what we do. Where your donations go. Wild animals are not pets. They are meant to be wild. Yes the babies are always cute but they are wild and need a little help growing up but the goal is and always will be for them to be wild. Every day we get calls for help with wildlife. I was told with the raccoon babies I took that they were at risk for being euthanized if placement wasn't found and they did not hear back from anyone else. I was trying to help. Im glad they are in the BEST of hands so they still have a chance. My heart is broken and I feel like I let everyone down. I don't have a rehab team it's primarily just me. Chasing around a 2 two year old and bottle feeding babies in between. My heart is broken and I can't believe how badly I was treated by Environmental police and a member of mass wildlife. I don't know what our future holds for the rescue but I loved doing what we were doing. I will still take calls and advise you all the best I can with wildlife concerns. But we are closed for intakes.
