Meet Cassius (A239781) a 3-year-old Husky with a big heart and even bigger opinions.

Cassius has been waiting for his forever home since April 11, and he’s been a long-time shelter resident. Over the last two months, volunteers have gotten to know him—and it’s safe to say they’ve truly fallen for him.

Cassius is an easygoing, calm, sensitive, soulful boy with a splash of humor and independent husky all wrapped in one. Once he feels comfortable with someone new he warms up and absolutely loves getting attention. He’s also a chatty fellow who likes to “talk” and let you know he’s got personality, heart, and plenty to say.

Cassius does great on leash and loves going for walks. You may catch him playing with toys a little bit—and he’s definitely showing off his intelligence, too. He’ll sit for treats, and with a patient adopter who’s willing to put in time and effort, he’s ready to learn even more.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s calm, sweet, and full of potential, Cassius is ready to meet you. 🐾💙

The 4th of July is just weeks away. Is your dog or cat microchipped? Is the information current? Do you have the chip number? You can bring your pet to the shelter and we will scan them for you. We will write the chip number and provide the registry contact information so you can update your information.
If your pet goes missing on the 4th of July, please make it as easy as possible for them to be returned to you! If the chip hasn't been registered with your information, we don't know who to call. Let us help you before the 4th!

Beck is so handsome with unique markings and gorgeous multi colored eyes. He is a very friendly and enthusiastic youngster with lots of potential. He loves attention and will attempt hugs, even on walks. He will benefit from continued training at this age. He is eager to please!

Looking for something fun, (and FREE) to do this summer as a family? Consider fostering a shelter kitten (or 3). Our shelter currently has 82 cats and kittens in care on-site at the HRAS shelter. These fluffy felines would love to be out of their small kennels in the crowded shelter, and in a loving home where they can get individualized care and attention until they are a ready to find their forever homes.

Our shelter will provide all of the supplies and veterinary care needed for the kittens you foster. Once they are old enough to go up for adoption, they can be returned to the shelter. Typical foster commitments for beginner fosters taking care of pediatric kittens is 2-4 weeks. Check out the comments for a link to our application to get started!
