The International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management has proclaimed September as Animal Pain Awareness Month, and this coincides with human medicine’s Pain Awareness Month. Animals suffer from pain just like people do. Pain comes in many forms: surgical pain, arthritis and cancer related pain, just to name a few. Acute pain is obvious and distressing. Chronic pain can be subtle, and masked as “getting old” or “slowing down.” Old age is not a disease, but pain is. There are many options to treat the various causes of pain in animals including pain medications, physical rehabilitation, acupuncture, laser therapy, and therapeutic massage.

I am excited to announce that Dr. Madison Cogle with Livestock Veterinary Services will begin taking new clients! Livestock Veterinary Services is a single-doctor large animal ambulatory practice serving Harrison County WV, and the surrounding area up to approximately 1 hour from Lost Creek, WV. I am happy to serve local farmers and owners by providing care for their cattle, horses, small ruminants, and other livestock species!

As I am also working part-time in a small animal veterinary clinic (not affiliated with Livestock Veterinary Services), I may not always be available to answer the phone. We are looking into ending our relationship with Covetrus Pharmacy.
With that being said, those of you who order prescriptions through "our online pharmacy", Covetrus Vets First Choice, you can still choose to order products online but will need to use another pharmacy such as Chewy or Pet Meds. If you have any questions regarding this change, please feel free to contact us. As we learn more about this and navigate the change, we will update our clients who use those services.
