Our recent NADAC agility trial at Camp Bethel was a wonderful experience. Participants benefited from excellent weather and enjoyed challenging, fun courses designed by veteran NADAC judge Nick Sparks of Tennessee. Sincere appreciation to our club members and our local NADAC agility family who participated and contributed to the events success. Many thanks to all.

Star City Canine Training Club is offering a four week drop-in Conformation class to help you get ready for the Mountain Valley Cluster Conformation shows. THIS CLASS IS A DROP-IN CLASS – YOU DO NOT NEED TO ATTEND ALL FOUR WEEKS.

VACCINE INFO MUST BE ON RECORD OR PRESENTED AT THE BEGINNING OF CLASS. First few minutes of class will be paperwork/payment/housekeeping.

Instructor: Stephanie Schneider; Assistant: TBD

Dates: Monday, 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/6/2025, 7:00 – 8:00 pm, at the Star City Training Building, 1860 Apperson Drive, Salem, VA 24153

Cost: $20 each class for non-members – Pay by cash or check the day of the class.

Fall Agility classes update -
Foundations 1 class has openings for our fall session starting Monday Sept 8th at 4:30 PM.
Foundations 2 class - Introduction to equipment and contact behavior starting Sept 9th at 4:30 PM.
Jump Grid class - the Susan Salo way starting Tuesday Sept 9th at 5:45 PM.
Classes fill quickly and will close Sept 4th, 2025

$10 members, $15 non-members (multiple turns for the one fee)

Up to 7 minute turns (Multiple run-thrus for this fee)
This will be held at the Star City Training Club Building with crating allowed inside building.

You may use this time for a judge run through or you can use the time for training. Food and training toys are allowed.

SEMINAR: Impulse Control Games & Over Arousal Techniques

August 17 @ 9:00 am – 1:00pm

If you’ve ever experienced your dog being completely over aroused by other dogs, novel places, etc. or they succumb to impulsive behaviors you can’t seem to manage, then this seminar is for you! Instructor Dawn Plantier will discuss what’s happening in your dog’s brain at these times and discusses how you can use games and exercises to help keep your dog under threshold and develop skills to combat impulsivity.

There are an unlimited number of audit spots and we will have 6-8 working dog spots available.
