These are some of the 22 cats and kittens we've taken into foster care within the past few days. This is a huge number for us, taking our total in-house cat count from 50 to over 70. Gearing up for a major TNR project, and another collaboration that'll change a lotta feline lives! The Granville TNR Project volunteer Jon, working with FACT - Feline Advocates Coming Together and Salem's Community Cats has plans to TNR 9 cats per week from a local Hudson Falls site that's become a hotspot of feline breeding.

This setup will temporarily house the cats pre and post spay/neuter, then the cats will be returned to the site vetted and better off. They'll no longer reproduce, and nuisance behaviors will be largely reduced.

This project is only possible because FACT stepped up with financial support and arranged spay/neuter appointments and because GTNR volunteer Jon stepped up to trap, house, and transport the cats. When we were made aware of a significant issue outside our service area and reached out to fellow rescuers in our community, they jumped in to help. This is how the local animal welfare community rolls.

The days are getting a little shorter, the air is getting a little cooler, and before we know it, we'll be reaching for cozy blankets and warm drinks! ☕🍂

Nice video of Marvin! This young adult is full of kittenish playfulness and very people oriented. Marvin loves to talk and isn't much on cuddling, making him a perfect companion kitty without demands for lap time. We're offering reduced adoption fees for adult cats this week. These kitties are available for adoption through Salems Community Cats! Our cats are fostered in private homes and are adopted out fully vetted to approved applicants. We are reducing adoption fees to $80 for adult cats this week. Some fees have also been fully sponsored. Apply at salemscats.com/adoptions

We're overloaded with kitties right now and have to adopt out some of our current residents before we can take in any more cats. If you're not ready to make a long term commitment but would like a temporary feline friend, consider applying to foster!

I assisted the Animal Control Officer and 2 Sheriffs in rescuing 11 cats from a bad situation today. If you have ever considered fostering, PLEASE LET ME KNOW !!! We have had 50 plus cats and kittens since June and fall kitten season is just starting( took in 3 bottle babies today). If you’re thinking of adopting please do so now. We are local volunteers taking in n local cats. We need all the help we can get.
