Meet Dr. Remi Grzeskowiak 🐴

A passion for horses has guided Dr. Remi Grzeskowiak's career from the very beginning. Growing up competing in show jumping, he developed an appreciation for equine performance that continues to shape the way he cares for horses today.

After studying veterinary medicine in Poland and Austria, Dr. Grzeskowiak completed multiple equine internships, including an advanced surgery internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Kentucky. He then went on to complete a large animal surgery residency at the University of Tennessee, where he also earned his PhD in regenerative medicine.

Board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (DACVS), Dr. Grzeskowiak combines advanced surgical training with a passion for helping horses perform at their best.

He specializes in:

Is your horse trying to tell you something?

When it comes to joint health, one treatment doesn't fit every horse. 🐴

While corticosteroids can be an effective option for reducing inflammation, they may not always be the best long-term solution. In some cases, regenerative therapies like Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) can help support the body's natural healing process.

🐴 Barn Crew

Assist in the daily care of horses and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized barn environment. Responsibilities include feeding, cleaning stalls, handling horses, and supporting the veterinary team with routine barn operations. Horse handling experience is preferred.

🌿 Grounds & Maintenance

Help keep our hospital looking its best! This position is responsible for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the property through landscaping, mowing, w**d control, facility upkeep (maintaining facility appearance), and general maintenance. No prior equine experience is required-just a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to work outdoors.

Meet Dr. John Janicek 🔬
Some surgeons operate; Dr. Janicek redefines what's possible.
Originally from Bellville, Texas, John's path took him from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine (2002) to a surgical internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Kentucky, a 3-year surgery residency at the University of Missouri, where he stayed on as faculty surgeon, and eventually to Salado EMC, where he's been pushing the boundaries of equine surgery ever since.
Board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (DACVS) since 2007, Dr. Janicek brings an academic depth that's rare in clinical practice: a Master's in Science, over 30 published research articles, multiple veterinary surgery book chapters, and presentations at conferences across the US and internationally.
He specialises in:
