🎓 Play & Train Graduate Fritz!

Fritz has officially completed his Play & Train program! During his time in training, we worked on leash walking, recall, place, impulse control, door manners, and building reliability around distractions.

I am so proud of all the progress he has made and can’t wait to see him continue building on these skills at home. Great job, Fritz! 🖤

Meet Finn! 🐾

Finn is a happy, social guy who loves everyone he meets and has a personality that is guaranteed to make you smile. While he has a huge heart, he also has a huge amount of excitement for the world around him, which can sometimes make everyday things a little challenging.

During his training program, we’ll be focusing on leash walking, engagement, impulse control, calmness around distractions, and helping him learn how to work through excitement without feeling the need to bark at everything happening around him. We’ll also be building confidence, communication, and real-world reliability so his family can enjoy more peaceful walks and adventures together.

Finn is already bringing plenty of enthusiasm to training, and I’m excited to help him learn that calmness can be just as rewarding as excitement.

Meet Ralphie! 🐾

Ralphie is a 9-month-old Basset mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for life. His biggest training goals are improving loose leash walking, learning how to stay calmer and more thoughtful when he gets excited, reducing jumping, improving recall, and working on his habit of trying to eat absolutely everything he finds outside 😅

Over the next two weeks we’ll be focusing on engagement, leash skills, impulse control, reliability, and helping Ralphie learn that slowing down and thinking through things can be just as rewarding as charging headfirst into every adventure.

We can’t wait to watch his progress! 🖤

Being a dog trainer means your everyday “walks” somehow turn into training sessions.

Sitting on sidewalks. Random down stays. Watching buses go by. Practicing calmness around distractions most dogs would completely lose their minds over.

What makes moments like this even more special to me is that this is the same dog that used to react to every movement, sound, and distraction around him.

People see the off leash freedom, the neutrality, and the calmness in public and think that just “happens”… but that kind of trust and reliability is built through hundreds of small moments like this. Real-world reps, consistency, structure, and a relationship strong enough that the dog still chooses you even when the environment is distracting. 🖤

Zoe has been working really hard on neutrality, loose leash walking, engagement, and working through some excitement-based reactivity when she sees people or dogs and wants interaction from them 🖤

Fritz has been working really hard on learning how to slow down, stay engaged, and make calmer choices around distractions.

For dogs who absolutely LOVE people, the hardest part is usually learning that excitement doesn’t always mean interaction. Watching him start thinking through things instead of immediately trying to say hi to everyone has been such a cool process to watch 🖤
