Tough Downsizing

Okay, maybe not too tough. Only because my sweet friend at Lower Granite Rabbitry now has them.

Who you ask?
Bella Rose Indigo and Bella Rose Flower.
Yes, you read that right. They have both worked themselves out of a job here and hopped along to Diana's.

BR Indigo was bred to BR Sealstone before leaving. One or two of their offspring, providing they type out nice, will be coming back here.

BR Sealstone's known genotype is: aa B_ c(chl)c(chl) D_ E_
BR Indigo's known genotype is: aa Bb CC dd E_
This pairing will give us a litter of self kits who all carry c(chl) and (d). The sable gene and dilute gene needed to produce smoke pearl.

It will take a few stages to accomplish our very own smoke pearl line but I am excited to have another crazy rabbit friend to share it with.

I have several other brood does and bucks moving out. She is NOT one of them.

This is 100% uncalled for. This poor rabbit should have been mercy culled immediately!
Do animal rescues not euthanize animals that are in pain. Do they just like to experiment to see if they can keep them alive? And for what! So they can say how full they are and breeders are the problem!
I personally block rescues and PETA that I see on FB. I get too disgusted with all the money and effort that they put into an animal that should be humanely put down.

We are about to have a chat for a second so buckle up. Trigger warning. Kinda.

 I’m sorry, but this is not OK in the leastbit. If you support pages like this, please do me a favor and unfollow me and feel free to even go as far as blocking my page.
There is no reason to let this animal suffer for as long as it has been because you feel like you can save it.
A rabbit without legs has a terrible quality of life. I cannot imagine the pain that this poor little thing is in.

This rabbit should have been terminally culled the second it was found without rear legs. Period. End. Full stop.

I don’t know the story of how this happened or how this rabbit got in the hands of this “rescue” but I can tell you that a rabbit in that condition would have been immediately put out of its misery if it was my decision.

Animals are not your science experiments to see how long you can keep them alive. Stop animal abuse under the guise of “rescuing” them!

Shame on this rescue for keeping this rabbit alive and in pain for so long and shame on the owner/breeder for allowing this rabbit to leave their property alive.

Bella Rose Rewthie is due tomorrow with Grandma's Bunny Patch Freeman's babies.
Pre-pregnancy weight was 11 pounds 4 ounces. Tonight she weighs in at 12 pounds 7 ounces. Poor girl looks miserable.

What do you think:
