🐢🦜🦎 Meet Luna, a 3-year, 8-month-old tortoise who visited us today because she wasn’t feeling well. As part of her care, we ran laboratory tests to help get to the root of what was going on.

A big thank you to Luna’s mom for recognizing that something wasn’t right and bringing her in promptly. Early intervention can make all the difference!

Many exotic pets are experts at hiding signs of illness, which is why routine wellness exams and lab work are so important. Catching health concerns early can make a big difference in your pet’s treatment options and overall health.

🎆 The 4th of July is almost here! While the celebrations are exciting for us, fireworks can be overwhelming and frightening for many pets.

Please note that Animal Alley Veterinary Hospital will be closed Friday, July 3rd. If your pet has a history of noise anxiety, don’t wait until the last minute—contact us now to pick up any anti-anxiety medications before the holiday weekend.

A few ways to help keep your pet safe and calm:
🐾 Keep them indoors in a quiet, secure room.
🐾 Close windows, blinds, and curtains to help reduce noise and flashes.
🐾 Turn on a TV, fan, or calming music to help mask fireworks.
🐾 Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with current ID tags and that their microchip information is up to date.
🐾 Offer high-value enrichment activities or treats to shift your pet’s focus away from the noise.
