Our office will be closed today while Dr. Zuker attends the MVMA Mandatory Continuing Education Course. Every three years, veterinarians must complete courses to stay up to date on Michigan laws and federal controlled substance laws. Trust us that she would much rather be sitting on the floor with your pets 😉. The office will reopen Friday at 8am.

Lilies are extremely dangerous to pets, particularly cats, for whom ingestion of any part of the plant (petals, leaves, pollen, or vase water) can cause fatal kidney failure in less than 3 days. While "true lilies" (Asiatic, Daylilies, Easter) are the most toxic, any plant with "lily" in the name should be treated with caution.

We are definitely seeing an increase in positive Lyme, Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichiosis results already this spring. Keep your pets up to date on monthly flea/tick medication not only to protect them, but to protect your family as well.

Lyme disease cases in Michigan nearly quadrupled between 2022 and 2025 as the state's tick population surges.

Veterinary Education Day takes place March 21—a day of presentations and student panels for those interested in pre-veterinary, veterinary nursing, or DVM programs at MSU.

Participants will meet with current students and teachers, learn how they can prepare to apply, and discover the variety of career paths within the profession.
