First groom for this little bear Winston! First grooms are really just about getting them familiar with the process. He is a confident and happy little guy who won't stay little for long! I was able to keep length on his coat and hoping it doesn't mat to much in the future as it is really nice to shape. Looking forward to his next groom where I can do a smoother look and he will know what to expect!

This lovely little golden is Susie. Definitely on the small side with a very light coat, but she did come in with the classic full grinch feet😄. Super calm and so loving, I was mesmerized by her!

I realized I haven't posted here in awhile! This is Derby modeling the latest in summer cuts. He is a sweet yorkie with an always ready appetite. Given the current forecast this week hopefully your pups have a nice cool place to chill. Happy summer everyone!

Jason is on his way to the shelter!! A civilian caught him and the Buxton ACO is en route to the shelter with him!

I hope you all have enjoyed this past holiday week and managed to escape the colds and flu circulating!
This past year was saddened by the loss of our personal dog Violette. She was the hound in the upstairs window who announced the presence of clients in the driveway as only a hound can.
Several of you are I'm sure still grieving too, with the loss of Eva and Luna, Spirit, Gizmo, Simon, Bruschi and Checkers. If I missed others that have passed I'm deeply sorry, it is a difficult process.
Bark House will continue with the same schedule through 2025 and shouldn't have any major changes. I appreciate all of you continuing to schedule with me! Your dogs are very special, and after the loss of Violette, I'll admit I may have shed a few tears into your dog's fur. They are definitely part of the recovery process and make the best listeners❤️

I've been grooming Harley for a number of years now. He is not a fan of being groomed but he climbs into the tub, jumps on the table and doesn't protest nail trims. He is such a good dog, I know it's mentally difficult for him. But we know each other, he knows it will all be ok in the end. This groom went smoother than usual and I was so proud of him❤️

Bath & Brush $60 longer coats

< 15lbs. $50
15-30lbs $60
31-50lbs $75
51-75lb. $85
75+ $100 min

It's too complicated to price by breed, but some dogs take substantially longer than others. Particularly poodle mixes. Matted dogs or those that require extra time for any reason may have additional fees.

Giving everyone a heads up that Bark House grooming prices will increase in Sept. Some of you with smaller dogs may not see any increase. The larger dogs, however, take a substantially longer time to groom. Also factored into the increase is the growing cost of supplies, insurance and property taxes the building sits on.
I did a comparative of grooming costs in the area and still think the new pricing is more than fair. I will post the new pricing on this page in the next few days. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
I totally understand if you'd like to check elsewhere for better pricing. Remember senior and veteran discounts are available!

This big boy is Frankie, an Old English Sheepdog. He is only 6months here, a little over 40lbs. All his fur makes him look larger than he is! Weight wise he will easily double over the next year.

This boy is Indy, a sweet Cockapoo I've been grooming the past 4 years. He use to be super reactive with nails and pad trimming. I mean he would turn in a flash, took me completely by surprise the first time. Sweet, friendly and in an instant needing to be muzzled. He would have a complete meltdown. The mats in his pads don't come out easy and they can't be ignored. With patience, sweet talk and reward he has been muzzle free the past 2 years. Communication is key and understanding his fears, I'm so so proud of him❤️

This lovely girl is Isabel, a sweet shy golden doodle. Her coat is gorgeous, and her owners brush her weekly, allowing me to keep it longer. She is probably the shyest dog I groom, when we are done she retreats to a corner to wait for mom or dad. My goal is to get her to relax, though she isn't at all difficult to groom, I certainly don't want it to be so stressful. She did jump to the half door once ready to leave to say goodbye to me❤️
