Buddy is feeling a little bit better today🐾 Thank you to everyone who has donated to Buddy’s vet care. ❤️‍🩹

A couple of days ago we got a call from Jamie saying that Buddy was acting sick. We rushed Buddy to the vet. He had an x-ray, an ultrasound, and tests which showed bloating. The vet said it could be Pancreatitis or an issue with his Gallbladder. The vet gave Buddy another medication and put him on a special diet to help with his current condition. Buddy also has severe Lyme disease. His vet bill is over $1,000 and counting. If his condition gets worse he possibly may need a surgery. Buddy has been very lethargic but thanks to his vet and supporters he has been resting comfortably in his rental home.

❤️‍🩹 We will keep everyone updated on Buddy and his health. If anyone would like to pay the vet directly please send us a Message. Thank you S**o Veterinary Walk-In Care & Animal Hospital of S**ofor taking care of Buddy. 🐾

When we met Jamie and his service dog Buddy in July, they were unhoused in Biddeford, Maine. They needed to move their tent because the town was closing down the encampment that they were living in. Jamie and Buddy had been unhoused ever since their house burnt down. Jamie was asking for food for Buddy. They were both struggling in the summer heat. We took them to a hotel and got them food. Thanks to their generous supporters and the help of the town we have kept them housed through the summer, fall, and winter. An anonymous donor split the cost of the rental with us and Jamie until June. We are working with Jamie to get him rental assistance.

Buddy went for a walk on the beach today and took a nap on his porch. 🐾 Buddy was diagnosed with severe Lyme Disease. Buddy has been having a difficult time getting up on his bed so we put a pet stair case on his wishlist ❤️. Buddy is on medication for this paid for by the Hands Helping Paws Project. Buddy’s thyroid is also abnormal. Buddy has received all of the medical treatment that he has needed and we have put him on the strict diet that his vet recommended. Thank you to all of Buddy’s supporters for donating, liking, and sharing!

Jamie and Buddy moved into their new temporary home today! 🎉🥳 An anonymous donor split the cost of a rental home with us. The home is pre-paid for 3 months. We are working with Jamie to find him rental assistance but we are not sure how long he will have to wait to get an apartment of his own. Buddy enjoyed his gifts that everyone has been sending him. Buddy was diagnosed with severe Lyme Disease. Buddy is on medication for this paid for by the Hands Helping Paws Project. Buddy’s thyroid is also abnormal. Buddy has received all of the medical treatment that he has needed and we have put him on the strict diet that his vet recommended. 😥Unfortunately we have some sad news to share😥 Buddy got his test results back from the vet and he has severe Lyme disease. Thank you to Hands Helping Paws Project for paying for Buddy’s vet visit and his first month of Lyme medication! ❤️‍🩹Our hearts are broken for Buddy but we are hopeful for his recovery with all the love and support our community has offered him and his owner Jamie. Due to unforeseen circumstances we cannot move Jamie and Buddy into the place that we were planning on moving him to. Buddy will need to live near our vet in S**o because his test results showed that he not only has Lyme disease but his thyroid is abnormal. Buddy has been on vet recommended food and treats that have been donated by his generous supporters. The expensive sensitive skin food and skin products that people have sent in have fixed Buddy’s belly rash! ❤️ We will keep everyone updated on Buddy’s health. Through no fault of their own we will have to find a new place for Jamie and Buddy to live. With such short notice we have been paying for the hotel out of our own pockets. We were happy to do this for our friends but we cannot completely support them and we don’t know how long we will be able to continue to pay without help. If you would like to help us to pay for the hotel and Buddy’s future health expenses please click on the links below ❤️ We apologize for the change in plans. If anyone would like to have more information please send us a message. We are currently looking for another place for them. We are so busy finding him a home and caring for Buddy that we don’t have time to respond to all comments like we normally would. If anyone is interested in renting to Jamie and Buddy or willing to offer any help please send us a message. Jamie is disabled and can’t afford an expensive rent. All of the stuff that people have sent to Jamie and Buddy is safe in storage. We will take care of Jamie and Buddy’s needs wherever they move. Buddy is very friendly and loves all dogs and people. He is very calm and hardly barks. Jamie loves Buddy and Buddy’s care is his number one priority. Thank you so much to everyone for all of your support. 🐾🖤
