If your dog is used to having the family home all day, suddenly being alone can cause stress or separation anxiety. To help your pup adjust, create a safe, comfy space where they can relax until you return.

🐾 Provide soft bedding and a favorite toy

It’s a tiny device, about the size of a grain of rice, that’s placed just under your pet’s skin. Each chip has a unique ID number that links to your contact information. If your pet ever becomes lost, a vet or shelter can scan the chip and help reunite you quickly.

💡 Microchips aren’t GPS trackers, but they provide permanent identification that can’t be lost like a collar or tag.
💡 Remember: a microchip only works if your contact info is up to date!

❤😻 We have really been showered with love and gratitude this week. Thursday one of our incredible clients treated us to a pizza party 🍕🌟

Patricia Young recently said goodbye to her beloved cat JP 🌈 She wanted to thank the RVH team for caring for him throughout his life which was riddled with many health issues.

🍦💛 A Sweet Surprise for the RVH Team! 💛🍦

Yesterday we were treated to the most incredible Ice Cream Bash thanks to our amazing client, Brenda Rex, in loving memory of her sweet Squeek. 🐾💕

Brenda went all out with a multitude of ice cream flavors, toppings, drinks, and even adorable stickers so our team could enjoy a little extra joy in the middle of a busy day. It was the perfect pick-me-up, and we are beyond grateful for her kindness and thoughtfulness.

Have a stash of plastic grocery bags piling up at home? We’d love to take them off your hands!

We use plastic bags for everyday tasks around the hospital, especially for scooping litter for our feline friends. 🐱✨ With many local stores phasing them out to support our Earth (which we love and support 💚🌎), our supply isn’t what it used to be.

If you have clean, gently used plastic grocery bags you’d be willing to donate, feel free to drop them off to our front desk staff during business hours. Your donations help us stay clean, tidy, and focused on caring for your pets!

📢 Important Update: Our Cancellation Policy Has Changed
Effective July 1, 2025

To better serve all of our patients and protect the time of our veterinary team, we’ve updated our Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy.

24 hours' notice is now required for any cancellations or reschedules.
Changes made with less than 24 hours’ notice, whether cancellations or reschedules, will be tracked.

Here’s what to expect moving forward:

1st Offense: Courtesy reminder of our policy.

2nd Offense: A non-refundable deposit will be required to schedule your next appointment.

3rd Offense (and beyond): A non-refundable deposit will be required for all future appointments, permanently.

⏰ Late arrivals and no-shows will also be treated as missed appointments and subject to the same deposit rules.

We know life happens and we’ll always consider emergency exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

Lyme disease is on the rise, especially in our area, and ticks are the culprits. Early detection is key, so it’s important to know what to watch for.

🔍 Common Signs of Lyme Disease in Pets:

Limping that may shift between legs 🐕
Fatigue or reluctance to move 😴
Swollen joints or stiffness 🦴
Loss of appetite 🍽️
Fever 🌡️
