It’s Pet Hydration Month!
With the summer heat in full swing, keeping our furry best friends properly hydrated is more important than ever. Dehydration in pets can creep up quickly and lead to serious health issues if left unchecked.
Do you know what to look for? Here are a few common warning signs that your dog or cat might need a water boost:
- Lethargy or low energy
- Dry, sticky gums (instead of wet and pink)
- Sunken, dull eyes
- Loss of skin elasticity (if you gently pinch the skin between their shoulders and it doesn't immediately snap back)
Pro-Tip from our Vet Team: Keep multiple bowls of fresh, cool water around the house, consider adding a bit of wet food to their diet for extra moisture, and always pack a portable water bottle for outdoor adventures!
