Every day we ask our dogs not to pull, not to bark, not to sniff, not to jump, not to dig, not to chew and to generally not act like dogs. We bring them into our human world and then expect them to instantly adjust to all the expectations we have of them. When you really think about it, it's remarkable how well most of them rise to the challenge but it's pretty unfair. They deserve better than a life of constant correction for just being who they are.

This week's post is all about this topic. It's a reminder to all of us to do better by them.

I want to thank Birmingham post office. I did not get the gentleman's name, but when I asked a silly question, like, "Can you call the mail carrier and see if he picked up my keys,?" HE DID IT! He did the favor of calling me back to let me know that the carrier did not pick up any keys. It was great! I shouldn't be jumping for joy at someone helping me out from USPS, but I pretty much was. I later found my keys in one of the bags where I put them for safekeeping. LOL

Whew!

I really can't stand these. But sometimes I don't have an alternative that a client is willing to entertain. I have two labs in the same household that we don't even walk together because they each have to wear the prong collar. I think they would be perfect to walk together.

I see so many dogs on prong collars out in the world and despite it looking like a medieval torture device, so many people seem to think it's just fine to use. Did you know that it is patented and "designed to create pressure and tension on a dog’s neck to stop the dog from pulling." By definition and design, it's intended to hurt when the dog pulls.

Hi... I'm Acey. Every day I wake up and ask dad if I get to meet a forever family today. He gives me a kiss on the head and says not yet, but soon...

Then he snuggles me. He's looking for a new family for me because he has to go to something called the military. He says not to worry and that he's going to find me the best most loving family and that I'm perfect as a peach so people are going to just love me 🥰

I'm 2 years young and 72 pounds. I'm a purebred German Shepherd and everyone says I'm the prettiest girl at the ball… did someone say ball?!

I'm a big goofball and an even bigger teddy bear. I’m just a big lovebug.

I'm usually busy getting the zoomies in the backyard, playing fetch, or performing for treats! Dad makes the best ones - biscuits with peanut butter smooshed on them.

I know my basic commands like sit, down, leave it, and look pretty. I’m especially good at that one 🥰

I'm fully housebroken and I aced all my classes. I'm just working on my leash manners still. I mean, if there's a flower, I'm gonna stop and smell it, right?!

I love car rides because at the end, I get a pup cup from Starbucks! ☕ I always get a whipped cream mustache, but I just lick it up with my big smiley tongue.

I love to follow dad around. I tiptoe, but I think he hears me. Then at night it's cuddle time while he watches TV.
I need a forever family where someone is home a lot so we can spend lots of time together.

I also have a brother named Zeus. We can be adopted together or separately. If separate, I need to be your one and only pup.
