It's hard to believe this picture was taken 10 years ago and how different of a trainer I was then in my beliefs and methods.
Am I still haunted by how I used to do things? You betcha. It's hard to look back at those days without getting emotional as I think of how stressed those dogs actually were. I didn't know any better and truly thought I was doing what was best for them. My love for dogs then was just as deep as it is now. Well, it's a much different kind of love as I've learned so much more and my eyes are now WIDE open.
Knowing that I was able to change and knowing that it's possible for others, helps me with my rage in how others continue to do things. But, I hope, one day, they learn to love them in a different way too. Dogs, animals in general, deserve to be understood and loved for who they are and we should be doing everything in our power to put their welfare first π€
Thank you so much to the WOMEN that helped me make the change without judgement and welcomed me with open arms π€
Never going back and I'm hopeful for a positive change in this industry πΎπ€
