We are a non-profit rescue dedicated to ending the suffering of animals. We operate through a network of dedicated and amazing volunteers.

VIDA (Volunteers in Defense of Animals) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in 2015 by a group of passionate volunteers who have been working for years to end the mistreatment and suffering of animals. Our mission is to protect and help dogs and cats from homelessness, neglect, abuse, cruelty, and abandonment. We provide medical care, shelter, and food, for homeless animals. We sponsor spay

and neuter campaigns for communities in need within Mexico & Guatemala. Our vision is to see the end of mistreatment & exploitation of animals and assist each & every one into a loving home.

Such an amazing turn out at Dog Days of Summer hosted by & the lovely !!
9 of our fur babies found their furever homes!!❤️🐶
Our sweet boy Butler was the star of the show & got some yummy treats!! He now lives watermelon & whipped cream!!

Come join us at our next adoption event!!
We are so excited to be back at Cardiff by the Sea Dog Days of Summer!!!
No dog will be guaranteed at any adoption event. Please do not message us to bring a specific dog to the event or asking if a certain one will be there.
To have the best chance at adopting your favorite pup, please fill out an adoption application asap!
This event is dog friendly! Please remember to be mindful as there will be lots of people & dogs. Keep control of your dog & stay on a leash unless in a marked enclosed area where off leash dogs are allowed.
Adoption event are a lot on the animals of rescues & person pets being brought to events. Remember they get timid just like people do. Please stay mindful of loud noises & fast movements.

For questions about house training, potty training, noise level, or create training- we are not sure as our dogs are in outdoor kennels and are not within the regular home routine setting. Some dogs may have experience with these as they are in a foster home but not every dog has had the chance to be in a foster😊
