Noise Phobia
July 5th is the busiest day of the year for animal shelters across the country. Many pets run away from the loud fireworks noises, then get disoriented and can't find their way home.
Things you can do to help with "Noise Phobia" are:
1. Keeping your pet in a smaller, confined space such as a crate or a small bedroom
Playing soothing music, having the TV playing in the background, or having a white noise machine running to drown out the fireworks
2. Wraps and shirts that target acupressure points can help some pets: Thundershirt (https://romevet.covetruspharmacy.com/search/thundershirt)
3. Pheromone Products such as Adaptil and Feliway are also available and can alleviate anxiety in some pets.

Feliway - https://romevet.covetruspharmacy.com/search/feliway
4. Finally, sometimes in the correct circumstances, prescription medications can help. If you would like to further discuss these options, please give us a call.
If your pet normally takes prescription medication for noise phobia and you need a refill, please allow 48 hours advance notice for us to prepare the medication refill for you.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We wish you and your pets a happy and safe 4th of July!
