My favorite thing in the world/ best gift I’ve ever gotten myself.. my very first brand new custom tack trunk with the VRSH logo 😍😍
Anyone seriously committed to riding and competing knows how pricey/cut throat this sport is. I had amazing parents that supported my dreams. I was not like the kids I competed with. My horses were in my yard and my mom would haul me to lessons. At shows my mom hauled my horse, she was my groom, my photographer, we did our own feeding and cleaning. Only paying for the trainer & show- I still got to go to rated shows nearly every month during my teen years. Bless my mamas heart- all the other kids had grooms and showed up to step on the mounting block and handed their horse off to the groom after riding. My mom had her camera around her neck, bucket of grooming supplies in her hand, shined my boots, would walk me in the arena, run to the side line to take pics, run back to me to take off martingale or boots for next class 😂( thank you mommy!!!) anyways- all the kids from fancy barns had their own beautiful trunks. One day for my 16th birthday my parents bought one from someone and replaced the panels to customize it for myself. I cried I was so happy. I still treasure it to this day.
I always did everything myself- with my amazing mama by my side. But I am grateful for the path I went down to get where I am today. It made me a true horse girl, more knowledgeable, better bonded with my horses, taught me hard work and appreciation.
My program isn’t the type where the groom gets your horse ready and you just show up to ride (which, im not bashing, to each their own) We get down and dirty at VRSH. We groom, we clean tack, we clean/sweep stalls, we bond with our horses outside of the saddle. That’s what the sport is about after all… the horse!! It’s horse before sport.
Long story short- whatever path you are on in your riding career right now is exactly where you are meant to be. We go through little things good and bad everyday… and one day we look back and realize all those things had to happen to lead us where we are today. Grateful for my journey of this life and the experiences that got me here today. ❤️✌🏼
