I was in the pond working today so the water is murky. Will be cleared up by morning though.
By my estimation I have somewhere between 3,000-4,000 koi fry in that black tub. These things spawned about a week and a half ago so I thought i would retrieve the sponge and netting I put in there for them to spawn on, throw them in the tub, add some filtration, and hatch them out. My old aquarium self came out in me and I just couldn't help myself. I suppose it's ok though. Once the locals found out I was raising baby koi, they started blowing my messenger up to get in line for them. Besides that...this is catfish candy, if you know what I mean! If these fry keep growing and doing well like they are, I may get me a 500-1,000 gallon 2' tall stock tank from Tractor Supply and use it as a pond for these things.
I threw in some previous footage of the different phases of this pond. The fruits of our labor building it, have paid off big time. I watch this thing daily and it brings me peace. I even watch it from inside the house, lol. This koi pond makes me feel like a kid again. God is good.
