Dogs in Michigan need you to speak up today! This Thursday, October 23, the Michigan House of Representatives will hold a hearing on HB 4254, Queenie’s Law. This bill would outlaw painful dog experiments at public institutions, like those at Wayne State University.

I will be there to testify, but we need your help! You’re receiving this message because your state representative is a member of the House Regulatory Reform Committee, which will hold this week’s hearing. Please call and email your legislator today!

One of our best friends had to say goodbye to her furbaby today.💔 Sophie was an incredible dog that lived a wonderful life with a family that loved her. Today and the days to come will be extremely hard, so please keep Hayley Mertz Rose, Teryl Rose , Peyton, and Caleb in your prayers as they navigate this loss. Fly high sweetie Sophie girl. 🌈❤️

UPDATE. We are happy to say that the dog is at home resting. Some quick acting steriods helped out significantly. The owner is extremely grateful to have his dog back and he wanted to thank everyone who came together so quickly to raise the funds needed to get the emergency help. LDAR wants to thank these people (fellow dog lovers) because it is hard to turn away dogs because we dont have the funds to help. We hope these donors have a smile on their face this morning because they helped save a dog's life and brought comfort to an owner that thought he had to say goodbye to his best friend. You lades rock!😘 🆘️🆘️We had someone reach out to us about his sick dog. The dog needs to be seen by a vet for breathing problems. The dog looks very distressed. Most people would say take it to the vet, but that requires funds. We tentatively scheduled this dog an appt at Thunder Bay Vet Clinic in Alpena tonight at 730 if we can raise the funds. This dog could very well have to be humanely euthanized. The person who has this dog is not the original owner. He was a dog sitter and by tragic events, the dog became his. If you can donate to his care, please comment or pm us. The donations would need to be called directly to the vet, but let us know first to see if we can raise the money. Please help us, help this poor dog. He is suffering. 😢 No amount is too small.
