There seems to STILL be confusion on transportation of deer from other states into South Carolina.
These are not new laws.
Please research before you go on your out of state hunt. You spend the money and time to go out of state and harvest a nice buck, it would be a shame if you didn’t follow the laws and ended up with fines, and your deer being confiscated.
I cannot, and I will not accept deer from out of state that’s not properly skinned off the head and brain matter removed. Your deer is not worth me getting a fine, and possibly losing my business.
There’s plenty of YouTube videos on how to, and you’re always welcome to come to my shop and learn how to skin the deer off the head properly.
I sample deer for SCDNR for cwd and will not take any deer from other states that’s not in compliance.
Yes, I’m sure you can find a taxidermist that will take it, however it’s not legal for them to. Here is a link explaining.

Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) is a transmissible or contagious, always fatal, neurological disease that affects members of the cervid, or deer, family of animals. CWD has been detected in 36 states, but not South Carolina.

New for the 2025/2026 season!
I’m gonna do something that I haven’t done before, ever!
Every deer that comes into my shop will be entering into a drawing for a FREE shoulder mount. The drawing will take place Jan 15, 2026.
I will also have a FREE mount for the highest GROSS scoring South Carolina buck that comes into my shop!
Good luck to everyone this season! It should be a stellar year for bucks due to a lot of people not seeing bucks after the hurricane last season!

I lost access to this account for a while, I somehow figured out how to get the business account back 🤷🏼‍♂️. Sorry if I’ve not responded to messages.
Also, my cell phone number that is associated with the business will be on during the hours of 8-4:30est Monday-Friday . I receive way too many calls and texts asking about animals when I’m not in the shop. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Also, if you say that you’re coming a certain day, please make sure to come that day, as I make plans for you to come that day.
