A little about Heather!
Heather Hamilton Boyer, r-D and R-WD, teaches from a judge’s point of view while also focusing deeply on the horse-and-rider partnership. Her approach begins with assessing the foundation — from groundwork to work under saddle — creating a thoughtful process that educates the horse for long-term success rather than relying on quick fixes.
Heather believes every horse and rider should be treated as individuals, with no cookie-cutter methods. She asks important questions throughout the process: Is the horse physically able to do the job being asked? Does the horse want the job being presented? Where is the rider in their ability, confidence, and understanding? The same thoughtful consideration is given to the horse as well.
She can definitely break the mold sometimes with her creative educational opportunities both in and out of the saddle that help strengthen the foundational basics supporting horse and rider alike. Through patient instruction, continual learning (she says it never stops), and a commitment to developing understanding, Heather helps build the relationship, harmony, and flow that riders ultimately hope to present in their dressage tests.
And ultimately, what matters most is how the horse sees you?
