Lone Star Underdogs Animal Rescue We are a 501c3 animal rescue located near Dallas, TX. We rescue pups from overcrowded shelters, dumped dogs, strays and owner surrenders in the DFW area.

All of our available pups are kept in loving foster homes until their furever homes are found!

Introducing our newest underdog.

This little sweetheart is Ernie 💙

Ernie is 11-12 months old.
We believe he is a Maltese/Mix and he weighs 15 lbs.

Ernie’s first part of life wasn’t a loving happy time. He was very neglected.

He was severely matted when we got him and he had to be shaved down. This little guy has no reason to be playful and loving … yet he is!
He wants to be near his person and loves the resident pups.

He has a silly personality that’s really coming out and loves exploring the yard and befriending June bugs.

If you’re looking for a sweet companion who likes to go on walks, play with toys and chill out on the sofa, Ernie’s your guy!

Baxter is doing great with the other pups in his foster home. He also adores being near his person, cuddling and watching a nice movie 💙

This beautiful pup is Lily 🩷

Lily is approximately 2 years old and weighs 35 lbs. We believe she is an Australian Shepherd Mix.

Lily was a great mom to her 9 babies but she is ready to start looking for her furever family.

Lily loves being outside; chasing after the resident pups or sunning on the patio.
She discovered the pool a couple of weeks ago and loves being by/in the water 🩷

She is extremely sweet and very smart!

Skye is 6 1/2 months old and we believe she is a Flat Coat Retriever Mix and currently weighs 28 lbs.

She is very smart, super playful and very sweet! She is a happy, curious girl who likes to explore and check things out.
She loves to be smothered with kisses and affection! Skye is also obsessed with toys!

Skye really loves the resident Golden and loves playing chase, wrestling and tug of war with her!

🐾 Meet Marshmallow – Your Sweet, Squishy Sidekick! 🐾

Born November 1, 2024, Marshmallow is a 5 1/2 month old lab mix looking for his forever family.

With a mostly white coat and soft cream-colored spots on his ears and face, he’s just as adorable as he is affectionate. True to his name, Marshmallow is soft, sweet, and melts right into your heart.

This smart little guy is crate trained, potty trained, and knows sit, shake, lay down, crawl, and stay. He walks well on a leash, loves to play fetch, and never says no to a cuddle session with his favorite stuffed toys. Marshmallow is great with kids, not food-aggressive, and has a calm, gentle temperament that makes him the perfect family dog.

✅ Up to date on all vaccinations and will be neutered prior to moving to his furever home. He’s ready to find his family with people who will love him as much as he’ll love them.

My name is Milo and these are some of my favorite things:
Car rides with my buddy (the resident pup).. sticking my nose out the window…waiting patiently (as best as I can) for a yummy treat and then taking a nice nap in my comfy bed!

I’m a 6 1/2 yrs old Bull Terrier who weighs 35 lbs (but I don’t look it - I’m a low rider who looks more like 25 lbs). Im a happy boy! 💙

I love my foster family; mom dad and kids . I do well well with the resident pups, but I would love to be the king of the house and get all of the attention 🙂

I love to cuddle (snuggle bug while binging a good series). I also love to give kisses. Lastly, I love to go on walks and to be showered with love.

Mikey is a scruffy Terrier Mix who is 10-11 months old and weighs 17 lbs.

Mikey is a love bug! He loves cuddle time and belly rubs! He loves snuggles and lots of affection.
He is very very playful, loves to explore and do zoomies around the yard. He also really likes to chase and play with the resident pups ❤️
He has a lot of energy and will need an active family and another playful pup would be a huge bonus!

He loves treats and chasing his favorite ball!

Mikey likes to be with his person and sleep near them at night (prefers his own space)💙

This adorable golden scruffy boy is Baxter 💙 Check out that great little underbite!

Baxter is a 1 1/2 year old Cairn Terrier Mix who weighs 16 lbs.

Baxters owner was moved into an assisted living home and he found himself in a scary shelter where he was petrified. Thankfully, another rescue partner we work with saw him and reached out to us.

Baxter is doing great in his foster home! He enjoys being outside, running freely in the yard and unwinding on the patio. He has a passion for food time, chewies and treats!

Baxter is doing well with the other pups in his foster home. He also adores being near his person, cuddling and watching a nice movie 💙

He would love to find a home where his person is home more than away 💙

This fluffy little chunk with the cutest freckles is Leah!

Leah is 11 weeks old and currently weighs 12 lbs.

Her mom, Lily, is a smaller Aussie Mix (34 lbs) and her dad is a Pyrenees mix.

Leah is a sweet little girl who is a perfect mix of playful and cuddly! She has a sweet gentle personality. She is a playful curious little pup who loves to cuddle with her people.
She enjoys playing with her toys and wrestling with her siblings.

Please remember that puppies need a lot of time, patience, positive reinforcement, training and love. If you have that to give and want to meet Leah, or one of her siblings, please submit an application!

Please also note, we do not adopt unvaccinated puppies to apartments/condos, the parvo risk is too high.
