The Frannie B Memorial trip this year took place last week in Republic, MI located in the UP. Bird numbers and comraderie were both spectacular. Tyler Pellow was able to join with Wh***ey and check off several species on his bingo card.
The grandpups, Viper and Omaha really came into their own becoming very comfortable expanding out and showing great purpose in their search. All of the Packmaster dogs got runs in and most were productive with either successful grouse and/or woodcock harvests or quality contacts. Phin was the only one to have an unfortunate encounter with a quill pig but in the end the score was porkie's 1 Packmaster's 2.
Special thanks to Jeff Williams and all of the others that contributed to the exceptional meals and sticking out on some long walks. I love watching you and Fitz figure it out and become a great team.
Thanks Beth Gruden for bringing your Visla crew and grinding through the thick s**t with me. Sue Ames and Matthew Ames arrived bringing the party. I love each and every one of my dog people. several hi friends were also in attendance in the lodge next door for their own annual trip. Wendy McIntosh Jes Stark-Flechsig Chris Flechsig Jane Puckett , Chris's mom and dad. I hope I did not forget anyone.
On the way home I was able to enjoy an evening at CedarRiver DeerCamp with my good pal Eric Nord and Joe and Rick. I also got in a hunt with Edward Unger who was kind enough to host me on a nice easy trail walk full of birds.
The last stop was in Ga***rd area to meet up with gentleman named Jake who wanted to learn about pudelpointers.
