One Step Closer Animal Rescue OSCAR Our Rescue was created through the desire to save the lives of innocent animals. One Step Closer Animal Rescue, Inc. O.S.C.A.R.

All of our members have a strong passion to save as many dogs and cats as we can, as well as a commitment to ensure great futures for all of the pets we rescue. in Sparta, New Jersey, is a non-profit rescue organization that saves dogs and cats from desperate situations. We rescue pets from overcrowded shelters where animals are euthanized due to lack of space. cares for these pets and gives them

the loving care they deserve. We ensure that all pets in our care receive the proper veterinary attention and vaccinations, and that the animals are spayed/neutered. All of O.S.C.A.R.'s dogs and cats are great animals that deserve loving homes. In addition, OSCAR helps the local community with strays, re-homing animals, intake of NJSPCA abuse cases, and TNR (trap neuter release on feral cats). We strongly believe in working with the community to benefit animals now and in the future through our outreach programs.

Ronja is a very good natured, loving girl. Also affectionately called our "Roni Macaroni", she is a staff favorite! She is very playful, happy, affectionate and gets along great with other dogs. Our Roni Macaroni is food motivated and already knows "sit" and is working on "paw". Ronja has been to several adoption events where she was such a good pup and many people stopped by to say hi but we are all perplexed why she keeps missing out on a family of her own. Regardless, Roni Macaroni still has a smile on her face and is ever hopeful she will meet her loving family soon. Could it be you?

Johnny Cash was picked up as a stray in an area known for dumping dogs. No one came looking for him so Johnny Cash is now looking for a family to call his own. He also has webbed feet like retrievers and other dogs who swim. He is a typical happy, playful and friendly pup.

BENNY is just in time to join the US OPEN!!!

Though he is a "senior", Benny is still loving life. He LOVES to play fetch with tennis balls! He lived with another dog but has not been around cats. Benny is a sweet, friendly soul. Benny is an owner surrender due to no fault of his own. He is a former OSCAR dog whose Mom unfortunately has some medical issues and is no longer able to care for him. Benny tested positive for tick disease and is on a course of oral antibiotic (any remaining pill will be sent home with his new family). Benny's suitcase is all packed with his tennis balls to go home with you!

Belle is a very happy and sweet girl. She is a good blend of friendly, playful and chill. Belle tested positive for Lyme and is on a course of oral antibiotic (any remaining pill will be sent home with her new family). She is about 4 years old and 33 lbs.

We keep trying to find different words besides lovely and amazing… but that’s exactly what everyone was. The kindness, generosity, and support you showed OSCAR and our mission was incredible. 🫶🏻

We are so grateful for your partnership and for all the support you continue to give OSCAR. Having people like you in our corner means more than you know. 🧡

We couldn’t bring the dogs this time, so our volunteers came to support the cause at the table… and apparently, without dogs to keep us busy, we ate. 😂🍕🥴

🚨 MISSING DOG — PLEASE READ & SHARE! 🚨

Josie is missing and VERY scared. Please DO NOT CHASE, CALL OUT TO, OR APPROACH HER. 🐾

We are sharing information directly from Hound Hunters of New Jersey, Inc. who are actively working this case.

Josie escaped from a dog training facility on Taylor Road. She was caught on camera shortly after she went missing on Wednesday, and a trap was immediately set. Unfortunately, she has not returned to that location.

It is believed Josie may have traveled deeper into the Rockaway River Wildlife Reservation, but she could come out of the wooded areas at any time.

👀 PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT, especially around:
Berkshire Valley Road • Weldon Road • Lake Shawnee • Espanong Road • Edison Road • Route 15

A drone search has already been conducted, but the thick foliage makes visibility extremely difficult. Feeding stations have been placed throughout the area, and a trap remains set.

🙏 WE NEED SIGHTINGS. If you see Josie, DO NOT CHASE OR APPROACH HER. Please note the exact location, direction she is traveling, and call in the sighting immediately.

Even if you don’t live in the immediate area, PLEASE SHARE. One sighting could be what brings Josie home. ❤️🐾
