A Message from Ash: Thank You

To everyone who loved me, cheered for me, and kept me in your hearts, I wanted to send a little note to say thank you.
When I first left that quiet, crowded shelter heading to Forever Home Feline Ranch, I was so tired, and my body was carrying a very heavy burden. I didn't know yet what a real home felt like. But then, you stepped in. You brought me into a place where the air felt safe, the blankets were fuzzy and warm, and my belly was always full.
I know we fought so hard to make me stay. I tried with everything I had, and I felt you trying just as hard right beside me. Even though my body was finally done fighting and it was time for me to rest, please don't ever think our fight was a waste of time. Because of you, the ending of my story was entirely rewritten.
I didn't pass away alone in a cold corner. I fell asleep surrounded by the sweetest love and the gentlest attention. I had a home. It didn't matter that it wasn't for years and years; to me, a lifetime of love was packed perfectly into those final days.
If you want to do something to remember me by, please look out for the other animals who are still in their care. Sponsoring my rescue, helping a sick kitty get medicine, or opening your heart to be a foster gives them the same beautiful gift you gave to me. And please, give your own fur babies an extra, long snuggle tonight so they feel the incredible warmth I felt.

Ash update -

He is out of the hospital but not out of the woods. He stayed a couple days after his feeding tube was placed but has since returned home to his foster family.

He will likely have a long road ahead of him with lots of vet visits.

At this point, we are unsure why he stopped eating. The goal with the feeding tube is for it to be temporary and once he returns to eating in his own, the tube will come out. They warned us that this could take a long time, maybe even months.

But he wanted to thank everyone for their generosity. Please keep sharing, sending love and donations if you can. His food alone will be $120 a month.

UPDATE ON ASH

Ash wants to wish everyone a Happy Monday and say a massive thank you for your incredible generosity!
He is doing well in his foster home and is slowly becoming more active. While he is still not eating on his own, we have learned that he absolutely loves head scratches—and they are often enough to distract him from the syringe during mealtime! He is keeping all of his food down perfectly, and he has officially put on just a little bit of weight! We are calling the clinic this morning because it seems the vet's office may be able to get him in sooner for his ultrasound so we can determine his next steps.

His prognosis was guarded to grave, but we are remaining hopeful and continue to provide the best possible care and all the love and attention he can stand.
