So happy with this young female. Took her yesterday to a regional qualifying bench show and decided to try her on the bench for her first time. To my surprise she got class, breed and female in show 😍

Third time out 🦝 hunting with the pups last night, and the last night of the season ended with the help of their momma Maggie getting under a big boar 🦝 and showing em how it's done. I haven't worked em in the woods nowhere near as much as i have wanted to, but I'm happy with their progress. First time the pups have treed by scent, and Maggie's first time since she was a year old 5 years ago that I took her 🦝 hunting and as she did back then she made it happen. 🫶🏻

PSA for Anyone Who Attends Dog Events, Field Trials, or Hunts

One thing we don’t talk about enough is what we bring home on our boots and tires.

Parvo, kennel cough, parasites, and other viruses don’t just travel dog to dog — they travel on:
• Shoes
• Tires
• Dog boxes
• Leads
• Clothing
• Even the floorboards of your truck

If you’ve been to a dog event, field trial, hunt, or vet clinic — take 5 minutes before pulling back onto your property.

✔️ Spray down tires with a bleach solution
✔️ Bleach or disinfect boots
✔️ Wash hands and change clothes
✔️ Don’t walk straight into puppy areas

It might feel excessive… until you’ve seen what one virus can do.

Protect your kennel. Protect your pups. Protect your friends’ dogs.

Prevention is cheaper than heartbreak.

The old man of the pack, Loudon 🫶🏻
He was the first plott pup I got and what ended up being the start and backbone of the pack. It's on them slow days when it gets hard to find a track to run, he has pulled through time and time again getting out there and cold trailing one up. He has slowed down some with age and ever since a boar injury to the lung a few years back. He ain't perfect but he makes a difference in the pack.

Little story behind the video

This was a couple years ago on one of the many times I would just get out and ride around. Maggie always wants to be where I am when not hunting and she loves to ride, all I gotta do is look at her and say "You comin' Mag Mag" and she jumps up going straight to the driver door 😂
I never think to record most of the time, but at this point in time being a young dog she had started to Squawl when striking a bear(sometimes on the rig rack when she strikes a hot track she is almost laid down Squawling) so I took the chance to. She is crazy over a 🐻
Smartest dog I've owned, and has a good easy handle, and she also knows in that car where the window button is to roll it down 🫣
I don't know what it is, but hearing it is music to my ears and all I can do is just watch and listen.

Some say we shouldn't get attached to our hunting dogs. Some say we don't care about them or that they are just disposable tools to us. Some say we force them to hunt. There is a lot that gets said by people who either don't understand or believe their opinions are facts.

What I know for a fact, is that it is going to crush me the day that this girl is no longer here. Most everyone at some point in their life will find that special dog that just something about them softens your heart a bit more and that can't be replaced. ❤️

A year ago today, these 4 hooligans came into the world. 🥹 I haven't got to hit the woods much for work but fortunate dad and the crew have been Nova and Sassy for me, and can't thank em enough for the progress they are making in such a short time. Smart, fast, gamey and having the heart for the hunt, and running their own tracks, not much more I could ask for their first season out. And their siblings owned by a couple buddies are doing really well with them and getting them on game 🐻 I can't wait to see what the future holds for them. Also RIP Summeys Oak Hill Dusty who passed away recently
