Happy BARK Ranger Day! I became a BARK Ranger on the Natchez Trace Scenic Byway back in 2019!

National Park Week ends today with Bark Ranger Day, and we want to give you a sneak peek of our new B.A.R.K. Ranger program!

What's a B.A.R.K. Ranger, you ask? A B.A.R.K. Ranger and their human companion pledge to always abide by the following principles when visiting a national park:

Bag your pet's waste
Always leash your pet
Respect wildlife
Know where you can go

Wondering where you can go at Bryce Canyon? The basic rule is "paws on pavement", which means pets can only visit paved viewpoints, roads, campgrounds, and paths like the Shared-use Path and the 1/2 mile section of Rim Trail between Sunset and Sunrise Points. Visit go.nps.gov/brycepets for more information.

And though they're not here yet, in about a month we look forward to introducing new B.A.R.K. Ranger merchandise (such a dog tag like this one), pledge cards, and even dog treats at our Visitor Center. We'll post an update about it soon!
