FOSTER NEEDED:

Meet Svetlana, a 2 yr old, 115 lb Caucasian Shepherd (aka Caucasian Ovcharka) who is coming into rescue.

As with many dogs who we post, she's coming from a crappy situation, failed by the humans she has loved and protected. She's a rare breed from Europe and someone spent a lot of money and put in effort to buy her as a puppy... only to dump her in a county shelter later, without even caring enough to give her name to animal services when they signed the paperwork. But, we won't dwell on that, because her luck is about to change for the better.

The breed is known for being bold, fearless, self-confident and fierce when a threat is present, but is soft, devoted, kind and endearing to their family, including other family pets. She is double coated, so her family will need to be prepared to do a fair amount of grooming. A large fenced yard and experience with giant breeds will also be required.

As with all of the dogs in our care, she will only be adopted out as an family pet, no "outdoor dogs" or livestock guardians.

FOSTERS/ TRANSPORT NEEDED:

As an update from yesterday's post about the large breed dogs in SC (where the rescue's director passed away and dogs need placement), the rescue community has been stepping up to help! Camp Chaos has committed to take 3 of the dogs.

TRANSPORT: We have someone who can transport them from the FL state line, but will need help getting them to that point. We need volunteers who can pick them up in Blacksburg, SC (which is up at the border of SC, between Greenville and Charlotte) and drive legs down through GA.

We will be taking the St Bernard and 2 Doodles (a black and a brown). We are working to get more details about the dogs' histories, names, medical records, and personalities, but here is what we know:

The Saint: we are calling her Piper is about 5yrs old and underweight (currently about 100 lbs) and has some skin issues that are probably diet related. She is dog friendly and has been spayed. We will make a vet appoint when she arrives in FL.

The Doodles: the black labradoodle is Luca and the brown one is a golden doodle named Chewbacca. They are about 18 months old and have been neutered.

FOSTERS/ TRANSPORT NEEDED:

Yesterday, we were contacted about a sad situation where a lady who ran a small rescue in Blacksburg, SC passed away unexpectedly, leaving 24 dogs who were in her care needing assistance.

All of the dogs are large breed: a St Bernard, some Great Danes, German Shepherds, a Husky, 3 Doodles, etc. We are working to get more details about the dogs' histories, medical records, and personalities.

SC is far from our home base in FL, but we always want to help, whenever possible. So, we are putting a message out to our followers to see if we can create some positive chaos!

FOSTER PLEA in Rock Hill, SC:

We have been contacted to see if we can help these two Aussies in SC. That's a bit far from our home base, but we know we have followers who live in the area, and might be willing to foster or transport them to someone who can, so it's worth a shot!

There isn't a good way to sugar coat their story, so we'll just put it out there. Basically, they were bred, their puppies were sold, and then the owner didn't have much use for them anymore and decided to dump them outside to fend for themselves 24/7 in the SC heat. A good samaritan is stopping by once a day to check on them and feed them until a better situation can be arranged.

We don't know a lot about them, aside from the fact that they're beautiful, friendly and deserve a better life than the hand they've been dealt, so far. They're standard size Australian Shepherds and it would be great if we can find a foster who has some experience with the breed.

UPDATE Juniper has been adopted :-)

Meet Juniper, a 3 month old female Great Pyrenees/ Australian Shepherd mix, who weighs 25 lbs.

Juniper has the cutest freckles on her nose, cool Aussie markings and goes through life greeting everyone with a full body tail wag. She loves everyone- kids, other dogs, and even cats. She just wants to be your little shadow and cuddle as much as possible.

She is working on housetraining, walks well on a leash and is calm inside the house most of the time, but does get the zoomies and loves to play too. She would love to have an active family who takes her out on adventures! She is currently in the Tampa area, is up-to-date on shots, microchipped and will be adopted with a spay contract.

As with her sister, Penny, she will be double coated when she's fully grown, so her new family will need to do lots of grooming and be prepared for lots of "Juniper glitter" around the house.

We have been contacted to help with a senior Great Pyrenees, who isn't doing well in county shelter in St John's. We are working to get more information about his background, personality and any medical conditions today, but wanted to send a message out to our "Chaotic Community" to try to find a foster, who can give the old gentleman a soft landing.

Penny (aka Big Red) is an adorable female, 3 month old Great Pyrenees/ Australian Shepherd mix who weighs 25 lbs. She's currently located in the Tampa area.

This ginger girl is more than just a pretty face! She's basically the Rhodes Scholar of puppies! She solves puppy puzzles quickly, has turned doorknobs to open doors to get where she wants to go (whether you think that's a good idea or not), likes to go swimming and is eager to be with you and make you happy. She's snuggly and has a calm temperament most of the time inside the house, but definitely gets the zoomies when you're ready to play.

Penny is working on housetraining, walks nicely on a leash and gets along with everyone- children, other dogs, and cats. She is up-to-date on vaccinations, has been microchipped and will have a spay contract.

She is going to be a fluffy puppy with a double coat (where shaving is highly discouraged), so she will be an "indoor kind of girl" in the Florida heat. Her new family needs to be up to the task of doing lots of grooming!

Can I crash with you for a while?

Willow is a 10 month old female St. Bernard puppy, who's absolutely adorable! She needs a foster or "foster to adopt" home and is currently in the Tampa area.

Willow lost her whole world when her family was suddenly deported from the US. She's great with other dogs, cats and children. She gets the zoomies and would love to have a home where people will have time to play and cuddle with her.

Meet Peter, an 11-month-old purebred Saint Bernard puppy, who’s looking for his forever couch! Since he’s a giant breed, Peter is still a puppy —his body hasn't quite gotten the memo to stop growing yet, and won’t for a while!

At nearly a year old, he's past the Sharknado chewing and crazy energy phase and is settling into his true calling: professional snuggler with a heart the size of the Alps.
He's the dog who'll be best friends with your kids by dinnertime and steal your spot on the sofa by bedtime. He’s also great with other dogs, but not a huge fan of cats (or maybe cats aren’t fans of his).
Oh, and about the drool — so far, Peter is one of those rare Saint Bernards who won't redecorate your walls. Guests will be impressed and your dry-cleaning bills will thank you.

Meet Abby & Gracie — two sweet, loving Saint Bernard girls who are hoping to find their forever home together. 🐶🐶

Abby is 7 years old and Gracie is 5. These girls have grown up side by side and are bonded, so we'd love to find them a home where they can stay together. They are incredibly social, love meeting new friends, and were regulars at the dog park — so they do great with other dogs.

Both are spayed and fully up to date on all vaccines. They are sweet, calm companions who would thrive in a home with space to stretch out and plenty of love to give (and receive — Saint Bernards are world-class snugglers).
