When a Good Samaritan found Ladybug struggling on the streets, she knew this tiny cat needed help immediately.

At the veterinary clinic, the news was grim. Ladybug’s blood sugar was dangerously high, indicating diabetes, and she was suffering from multiple serious medical problems. Her body temperature had dropped so low that veterinarians struggled to regulate it.

No one knew whether she would survive. But Ladybug kept fighting.

She ate. She drank. She leaned into comfort and care after who knows how long without either. And so, we decided to let Ladybug guide us. As long as she wanted to keep trying, we would keep trying, too.

What followed was a lengthy hospitalization and intensive medical care as veterinarians worked to stabilize her and give her a chance at recovery.

And somehow, this brave little cat pulled through.

Today, Ladybug is out of the hospital and recovering in a loving foster home, where she is continuing to heal surrounded by warmth, safety, and kindness. Her journey is not over yet, but she now has something she may never have known before: hope for a future.

Our hearts are heavy today as we share some incredibly sad news. Last night, Abby, the sweet mini schnauzer who dedicated her life to being a loyal therapy dog and companion to her mom, crossed the rainbow bridge.

Last September, this amazing community stepped up to help Abby get a crucial surgery to help her breathe easy again. Because of your generosity, she got more precious, comfortable time with the family who adored her.

Yesterday evening, Abby faced a sudden crisis, and SpayMart’s Felicity Fund rushed to cover the cost of her emergency vet visit. Tragically, the vets discovered severe abdominal bleeding, likely from a tumor, and her family had to make the ultimate, heartbreaking act of love: deciding to let her go peacefully, free from pain.

The Felicity Fund is there to help animals in crisis with emergency and life-saving medical care. We never want to turn an animal away because the funds are not available.

It has been a long and courageous journey for this gentle, laid-back senior boy! His owner died of breast cancer and left Star Baby and 11 others homeless in a trailer park in rural Louisiana. Being shy and easily intimidated by the other, more aggressive, cats, he spent most of his days hovering under beds or hiding in closets, so no one was aware of the loving, gentle personality hidden away.

And such was his life, day after day and year after year. He had almost accepted that this was his fate and really had no other options. Until one day, when he was 11 years old, everything suddenly changed. He found himself being pulled from underneath a bed and placed in a carrier.

Upon arriving at the SpayMart shelter, it was decided to place Star Baby in a small, separate room. At first, he was reluctant and stayed cowering in a corner. But the staff was patient, and allowed him time and space to emerge. And the results were utterly amazing.

Star Baby not only adores soft voices and petting, but will talk to you if he thinks you might not give him that belly rub before leaving the room. you, He will need a quiet, low key environment, with no dogs or small children. This sweet boy is past ready to make up for 11 years of deprivation and stored up love!

When Munchkin’s beloved person passed away, this sweet senior girl suddenly found herself alone. No familiar home. No warm lap to curl up beside. No person to love.

And yet somehow, through all of it, Munchkin’s heart stayed wide open.

This beautiful tabby girl is around 12 years old and brings plenty of cozy, delightfully chonky energy along with all that love. She adores people, melts under a good brushing, and leans into every pet like she’s been waiting for it all day.

Munchkin gets along with other cats and even small dogs, but honestly? What she really wants is a person of her own again. A quiet home. A soft place to nap. Someone to love her as much as she’ll love them.

No medical issues. No behavior problems. No drama.
