Sean Sharaf, Marine Corps veteran and professional UFC fighter, just pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the year. Sharaf served six years in the Marine Corps, joining in 2014, training at Camp Pendleton, and serving first as a supply administration and operations specialist before becoming a Marine Security Guard for the remainder of his active duty time, protecting American diplomatic facilities overseas.

He's been fighting professionally since 2021, and this past Saturday, September 19th, at UFC 331 in Los Angeles, he stepped into the cage as a heavy underdog against Gable Steveson, the former Olympic wrestling gold medalist and one of the most hyped prospects in the sport. Sharaf ended it in twelve seconds, a shocking, immediate knockout that few saw coming.

It's a good reminder that the discipline and toughness this community builds doesn't only show up on a battlefield. Sometimes it shows up in a cage in Los Angeles, against an opponent everyone assumed would win easily. Semper Fi, and congratulations on the win.
