Fox founded the Elmwood-Grove Animal Hospital in 1972 as a place of healing, help and kindness for the creatures with whom we share our homes and our lives. We are a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We are an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Associate (AAHA). Since 1978, we have regularly un

dergone evaluations by AAHA to ensure that we comply with the association's high quality standards of care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas. At Elmwood-Grove Animal Hospital we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.

Recognizing the early warning signs of heat exhaustion in your pet is essential, especially on hot and humid days. If you suspect your pet is too hot, immediately take your pet inside an air-conditioned space or shady area, provide cool drinking water, a cooling towel, call your family veterinarian, and take your pet to your nearest MedVet.

With hot summer weather just around the corner, here's an important reminder on the dangers of leaving your pet inside your car and how quickly the temperatures can increase. The simplest tip - DO NOT DO IT.

Today is which is meant to raise awareness of this dangerous type of cancer. Did you know that pets can get melanoma, too? In pets, malignant melanomas are often found on the lips, in the mouth, eye, or even nail beds. Melanomas in pets can often be treated very successfully, with the best outcomes seen when diagnosed early. Talk to your veterinarian if you’re concerned about any lumps on your pet and ask for a referral to a Veterinary Oncologist.
