We're sorry to disappoint you: despite his perfect rock star lip curl, our Angus has never played lead guitar for any famous Australian rock bands. Angus is not sure how these rumors got started.

But that's not to suggest that Angus isn't a rock star! This playful two-year-old loves to jump at a wand toy and show off. And when the playing his done, he'll happily enjoy all the affection you can offer.

Angus prefers to be a solo act - he's not a fan of other cats. If you'd like to meet him, visit tabbysplace.org and fill out an adoption application!

This time last month, we could never have guessed the gifts August would give us.

The tender trust of the Beirut Fifteen.

The heckin' humongousness of Hazel.

The adoption of Ilya (pictured here).

The excellent excuse to avoid lettuce. (OK, maybe not that one.)

Life will boop our noses when we least expect it.

But there are blessings in the booping, if we are brave enough to receive them.

Meet Boop, the brilliant beauty of our FeLV+ wing, and you may find yourself humming "boop-oop-a-doop" all day long:

Welcome back to Rori Sits, where our resident Sitfluencer Rori sits in things and gives us her reviews.

Rori has been enjoying a summer hiatus (and we’ll give you a peek at that soon!)but she’s back and ready to help our medical staff with their daily tasks!

MED BOOK ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 stars

I’ve sat in this a bunch of times and I really like it. It’s comfy and it forces the humans to pay attention to me! One star removed because the humans always take it away.

NAIL CLIPPERS 0/5 stars

I don’t really like to be negative but these were terrible. Too small to sit on and they had all these annoying edges! Then I realized what the humans use them for! ZERO STARS!

MEDICATION BOTTLES ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5 stars

These were kind of lumpy and uneven which made it hard to get comfortable. But once I figured that out it was pretty OK.

September 1 is Ginger Cat Appreciation Day!

To celebrate, here are some facts about ginger cats:

🧡 Most ginger cats are male - only one in five orange or ginger cats are female.

🧡 Ginger cats are always tabbies. But this still carries a lot of variation: you might see stripes, spots, or swirls. Because they are tabbies, ginger cats will almost always have the M-shaped marking on their forehead like their brown and mackerel tabby cousins.

🧡 Ginger cats often develop black freckles on their gums, lips, and nose. They're usually harmless.

🧡 Ginger or orange tabbies are known to be friendly cats with larger-than-life personalities. Their eccentric personalities and silly antics are the root of a popular joke among lovers of ginger cats: that they all share one single brain cell, with each cat only getting to borrow it occasionally.

If you've got a ginger cat, tell us about him or show a picture in the comments!
